Salary: £41,000 + depending on skills and experience

 

What you’ll be doing:

  • Championing compliance with BAE Systems’ IRM (Information and Record Management) Policy, while actively collaborating with the Information Manager to improve the digital records management capabilities within the organisation
  • Supporting the business in its understanding and application of document security protocols, becoming a recognised source for Naval Ships employees seeking guidance, and ensuring the highest standards of confidentiality and protection of information
  • Playing a key role in curating and managing the comprehensive suite of governance documents for Naval Ships IRM, working closely with the Information Manager to streamline processes and optimise efficiency
  • Taking charge of governance and assurance initiatives to uphold high standards throughout the information lifecycle, ensuring seamless management and compliance at all stages
  • Assisting the Information Manager in delivering insightful reports on IRM compliance within Naval Ships, including the biannual Operational Assurance Statement return, showcasing our commitment to transparency and accountability
  • Overseeing the Naval Ships Records Store and Business Library with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring all records and library items are stored, easily retrievable, and managed in accordance with regulatory requirements, professional standards and best practice ensuring our organisation benefits from these resources

Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

  • Extensive knowledge of IRM principles, standards, and industry best practice
  • Able to work unsupervised and on one’s own initiative
  • Competent usage of Microsoft Office packages

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of SharePoint/Office 365
  • Understanding of UK Government marking scheme
  • Ability to influence key stakeholders at all levels of the organisation

The Information and Records Management Team:

Our Information and Records Management Team provide specialist advice and support across our Naval Ships business as we design and manufacture a range of naval ships and state of the art combat systems. From the latest City Class Type 26 Frigates that we are building for the UK Royal Navy to the Australian Hunter Class and Canadian Surface Combatant.

Collaborating closely with our Information Manager and tight-knit team, you’ll be involved in guiding the business and shaping the future of our organisation to propel us forward not only through new initiatives and leveraging new technologies, but by working with traditional medium too. Reporting to Senior Counsel, you’ll be at the forefront of changing our digital information management landscape.
