Salary: £62,000+ depending on experience

What you’ll be doing:

  • Be responsible for propagating data-driven measurement of benefits in BAE Systems
  • Research, analyse, collate and publishes internal and external best-practice for representing value statements as data-derived objective measurement. Cohere, own and maintain this as a unified BAE Systems framework
  • Lead application of this best-practice approach to key Data CoE initiatives; drive creation of data products to track and explain the derived metrics
  • Work jointly across relevant stakeholder groups to implement best-practice as standard ways of working across BAE Systems
  • Provide advisory and mentoring services across BAE Systems to drive adoption
  • Monitor use of metrics used to verify benefits, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement e.g. to avoid ‘gaming’

Your skills and experiences:

  • Understands concepts in benefits management and realisation including common pitfalls / failures
  • Understands concepts in data provenance and lineage, and the effect these can have on what benefits metrics actually measure
  • Experience in the development and use of benefits metrics and reporting

The Team: 

The role of the Data Centre of Expertise within Head Office is to enable and govern our use of data across BAE Systems, from data management and architecture to exploitation. Within that context the Data Exploitation team works to drive greater impact from our use of data, by exploiting more of it, by increasing the sophistication of that exploitation, and by working with data consumers to maximise the value to our operations from use of data products. This is a new and growing team, and this role will bring renewed focus to a critical aspect of our scope.
