The role

You’ll act as Lead Engineer on large scale software initiatives within MAG and expand existing or drive new software to meet the changing needs of MAG whilst staying true to our company’s core values and needs. You’ll focus on creating fault-tolerant programming strategies using various DevOps tools for build, test and deploy. You’ll create scalable, automated solutions for Airport systems and Guest Experience using elastic based container solutions or RPA (robotic process automation) for example, as well as contribute to PoCs related to component technology. You’ll act as a mentor/coach to less experienced team members.

What will make you successful in the role?

Evidenced skills in the following

  • Significant experience of software Development in various languages relevant to the job role. Required languages are Node, Typescript and Python.
  • Excellent technology awareness including modern ways of working CI/CD, DevOps, Containerisation, Docker etc.
  • Exposure to different systems integration technologies for example RESTFul, Message Queuing, Web Hooks etc. Experience using Kafka is required.
  • Experienced in SQL such as Oracle SQL, PostgreSQL or MS SQL Server
  • Thorough use of source control capabilities and processes.
  • Experience building complex microservices ideally in cloud-based solutions specifically within AWS.
  • Team player attitude with a willingness to lead when necessary

Desirable skills

  • Degree or equivalent education in Software Engineering or Information Technology or relevant subject.
  • Experience documenting in tools such as Swagger
  • Experienced in agile delivery techniques and using agile tools such as Confluence and JIRA.
  • Experienced in continuous integration/delivery methodologies
