This is your chance to be part of the Commercial Planning and Execution team where we build tools to support the LEGO Group’s commercial planning activities.

 

Core Responsibilities

You will be part of the bigger Partner & Markets area that is responsible for a broader range of solutions facing our Retail Partners and the LEGO® sales organisation. You will be joining a group of highly dedicated engineers striving to deliver the best possible solutions to our end users. As a senior data engineer in the Commercial Planning and Execution product team, you will play a crucial role in bringing our data to life. Our systems are the source of truth for a lot of commercial data that is very important to the LEGO Group’s selling activities, and we need your help in getting that data in the hands of other product teams and analysts. Your core responsibilities include:

  • Architect and develop ETL pipelines in Databricks, applying business logic to the underlying raw data
  • Mentor colleagues and promote good engineering practices on the team
  • Collaboration with other product teams, both consumers and producers of data
  • Develop and maintain infrastructure in AWS using Terraform
  • Migrate business logic out of existing systems into Databricks
  • Spar with the team’s lead engineer, designer, and product manager
  • Contribute to the department’s data strategy and use of Databricks and data in general

The Commercial Planning & Execution team is one of several product teams within the Partner & Markets area. The purpose for the team is to digitalize and innovate the commercial planning and execution processes within the LEGO Group and establish a common data foundation for these. The product team plays a meaningful role in enabling sales colleagues and leaders across the world with digital tools for managing the in-year and next year planning for our B2B retail partners. The product team have a wide user base from top management to Key Account Managers, Finance Business Partners, and analysts.

By joining this team, you will play a huge part in unlocking the potential of the LEGO Group’s commercial planning data. LEGO Group’s sales activities can improve from better understanding how we spend our money. You will enable new capabilities for the product, bringing data and software engineering practices to the team.

 

Do you have what it takes?

  • Working experience in the field combining data and software engineering
  • Strong programming skills in Python or related programming languages, with a focus on testing to ensure high-quality work
  • Proficiency in building ETL pipelines using data technologies and implementing infrastructure as code, preferably utilising AWS services
  • Hands-on experience with Databricks or a comparable data platform
  • Hands-on experience deploying code using CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code tools (for example deploying on AWS using GitHub Actions and Terraform)
  • Superb communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical challenges and opportunities to both technical and non-technical coworkers
  • Experience with the SAP ecosystem is nice-to-have
