Core Responsibilities

  • Lead, grow and develop a retail analytics team responsible for driving useful insights, tracking commercial performance, finding opportunities and risks and supporting faster and better commercial decisions for LEGO® Retail.
  • Apply big data analytics and data science modelling techniques to uncover insights on products, channels, customers, shoppers & members, short term and mid to long term.
  • Drive key business processes such as Monthly Commercial Traction meetings, monthly Demand Reviews, and weekly commercial performance reviews with focus on delivering clear, consistent and relevant storylines on business performance
  • Support the development of data related to digital products and strategies through collaboration with Product Managers and Digital Tech team.
  • Develop and elevate data & insights capabilities across the organization, acting as a champion for best practices and crafting relevant moments of engagement for the Retail business, e.g. Town Halls, business planning, etc.
  • Build a strong global network to ensure global consistency and manage local key partners to influence commercial decisions.

The Head of Retail Commercial Development reports into the VP, Analytics & Insights (A&I), and is a member of the A&I Leadership Team and the LEGO Retail Leadership Team. The role is responsible for leading the team in tracking commercial performance, identifying commercial opportunities, and supporting faster and better commercial decisions through clear performance storylines and socialization of key business reports. The team also collaborates with Tech, Data Science and Digital products to support data products development to generate better insights.

Do you have what it takes?

  • Minimum 2-3 years experience working in a D2C commercial organization with direct experience in building retail-specific management reporting focussing on consumer sales metrics, operational retail KPIs, marketing effectiveness and 1P/0P data utilization.
  • At least 2-3 years’ experience in outstanding consulting firm, for instance McKinsey, BCG, Bain or alike.
  • Outstanding analytical skills and financial competence, with the ability to create new metrics if necessary.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with validated experience in preparing concise documents for executive-level decision-making.
  • Proven track record to coach a team to reach the highest analytical and communication standards
  • A thorough understanding of what best in class retail reporting looks like and the ability to elevate retail reporting at the LEGO Group.
  • A strong understanding of the retail omni-channel landscape and shopper audiences with luxury or consumer goods preferred.
  • Proven ability to translate complex data and reporting in a manner in which it is easily understood by all.
  • Experience in global businesses and managing teams across cultures and time zones.
  • Ability to work under pressure with strong time management.
