As a Director of Delivery, you manage agile delivery managers and scrum masters who make sure data engineering squads have the optimal environment to create and transform products. In this position, you will lead the team to define and improve agile organizational processes as we transform our product offerings and re-imagine our ways of working in matrix-managed teams.

 

  • Responsible for the line management of delivery managers and scrum masters including hiring, on boarding, and career development.
  • Responsible for the creation of agile working environments that will promote matrix teams to deliver value to customers in incremental steps
  • Be accountable for complex tech-driven delivery and maintain active communication across multiple internal and external stakeholders
  • Create transparency and predictability across data engineering and product teams using appropriate tools and metrics that matter
  • Work with the product team to maintain pipeline of work for delivery teams, identifying and resolving gaps, issues and facilitating priority decisions where needed
  • Contribute to the collaborative planning process, prioritizing the work that needs to be done against the capacity and capability of squads
  • Understand commercial drivers and business strategy to ensure appropriate programme/project prioritization and ensure this is reflected in delivery plans
  • Lead definition of agile ways of working, methodologies/standards and provide guidance on good practice
  • Have an opinion around the technical and architectural decisions within your delivery work-stream

Candidate requirements

Previous experience as an agile delivery/programme manager

Proven track-record of successfully delivering complex products to market

Ability to connect and align people to plans and be the glue in the cross functional relationships

Ability to to create consistent and repeatable process using agile methodologies

Passionate about coaching for high performance and creating an agile culture

Technical side of things.

Extensive, demonstrable experience building complex digital products and internal facing systems across web applications.

Passionate about software engineering best practices include agile, TDD, continuous delivery, micro services, event driven architecture, domain driven design

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment both as an individual contributor and act as a technical partner to business teams
