Job Description:

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Spearhead the successful implementation of Agile methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban, resulting in a 20% improvement in delivery times.
  • Introduce and track appropriate Agile delivery metrics such as velocity, cycle time, and burndown charts, providing real-time visibility into progress.
  • Develop and execute a data engineering roadmap, aligning technology investments with strategic business objectives.
  • Establish and maintain best practices for data ingestion, processing, and storage, ensuring data quality and integrity.
  • Implement automated testing and validation processes, reducing data pipeline errors by 15%.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define data requirements and deliver solutions to support business analytics and reporting initiatives.
  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies and tools to enhance data engineering capabilities, supporting a 10% increase in efficiency.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide coaching to team members to drive professional growth and career development.
  • Play a key role in hiring and onboarding new team members, contributing to the growth and development of the department.

About You:

  • Have a background in data development or engineering
  • Have a good understanding of Microsoft Azure tooling, preferably with hands on experience
  • Knowledge of Python advantageous
  • Experienced in Agile frameworks such as Scrum, Kanban, Lean
  • Experience of managing teams to deliver quickly and accurately
  • Experience with using Agile tools to inform and provide feedback
  • Ability to think out of the box with a can-do attitude to get things done efficiently
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to articulate technical concepts in plain English
  • You will be proactive, resilient with strong leadership skills and an excellent team player
