Job Description

Legal and General’s Group functions are hiring for a new Data Analytics Manager to drive customer engagement by devising and embedding new strategies around customer communication through analytical approaches. You will own and manage the group database marketing team, working to ensure data quality is upheld, we are GDPR compliant and customer preferences are up to date and data is moving safely around the business.

The role will see you analyse and improve campaign performance by guiding the team through the introduction of advanced analytical approaches and providing insight to the marketing teams to facilitate better customer approaches.

What you’ll be doing

  • Leading a team of analysts, helping to scope projects, guide design, approach & technical delivery and embed standardised practices & ways of working.
  • Understanding the data systems and structures within the business, contributing towards improvements to these systems where possible and linking understanding of source data to value-adding analytics and reporting.
  • Advocating for data visualisation best practice, sharing knowledge and guidance with others, ensuring all outputs are visualised to a high standard in line with company requirements.
  • Continuously developing processes so that deliverables are created in the most efficient way to improve performance, through the use of code to manipulate data (e.g. SQL) and visualisation tools to display outputs clearly (e.g. Tableau/PowerBI).
  • Ensuring timely and accurate delivery of regular reports to the business, designing processes so they are automated and easily repeatable
  • Satisfying ad hoc data and visualisation requirements from internal customers; understanding the business need and deliver the outcome in a flexible and insightful manner in line with business requirements while acting as a conduit between business and technical teams
  • Leading stakeholder management and issue resolution for the team. Developing and maintaining productive relationships with all stakeholders; providing advice and guidance on data, analytics, and visualisation to improve their knowledge and understanding.
  • Ensuring data extracts provided for communications are fully compliant with any rules and guidance issued by the relevant regulators, including relevant data protection legislation.
  • Coaching and managing a team of analysts in accordance with the Company’s policies and procedures, including the Partnership Agreement, so that the team’s business objectives are achieved consistently and to maximise the performance of the team

Qualifications

What we’re looking for

  • Experience in leading and delivering through others, and coaching team members to improve performance
  • Experience leading multiple workstreams simultaneously
  • Experience in dealing with high volumes of data with excellent attention to detail and reconciliation
  • Experience of creating dashboards/data visualisations with dashboarding software such as Tableau or PowerBI
  • Performing data manipulation and transformation to create and maintain datasets. Creation of structured datasets that facilitate efficient dashboard creation
  • Producing and automating regular reporting to a wide range of stakeholders through the use of analytical tools
  • Gathering requirements from stakeholders across internal teams, managing expectations and guiding on approach. Experience managing a senior stakeholder audience
  • Working with a variety of datasets across different domains. Proven ability to rapidly understand the commercial and business context when working with new data and domains
  • Significant experience with dashboarding tools such as Power BI and Tableau
  • Significant experience with coding languages for data manipulation, such as SQL
  • Experience with Alteryx beneficial but not essential
  • Experience with Python & R beneficial but not essential
