Name: Laura Parfitt, Lead Data Scientist

Title: Using Data to build Better Products

Bio:

After graduating with a BSc in Business Mathematics and Statistics, Laura considered roles in banking and finance but ultimately landed her first role as a data analyst in an advertising agency. After that she moved into online retail, spending 6 years at John Lewis and Marks & Spencer in their e-commerce analytics teams.

She joined Google over 3 years ago as a Product Lead for Marketing Experiments and now leads a team of data scientists in Product Analytics for Play Engineering.

Bio:

Jennifer has been working at Google for five years, during which time she has worked with some of the UK’s largest travel brands as well as a few global advertisers. Prior to Google, she was a practitioner in a digital marketing agency in London. As an Analytical Consultant at Google, Jennifer’s role is to distill data into insight to help marketers make decisions & help grow businesses. Her mission is to make travel marketing more data-driven.

Title: The importance of diversity in data when representing the customer

Bio:

Georgie is a Strategic Insight Manager at Google. In this role she tackles some of the most challenging questions from our clients by commissioning first party research across different methodologies and working with internal analysts to mine Google data in new and exciting ways. Some of the areas her work focuses on include: shedding light on evolving consumer behaviours, uncovering trends and influences shaping client industries, and how clients can partner with Google to respond to their changing markets. Before this she worked in strategy at creative agency VCCP, and before this was a commercial lead at The Hut Group, one of Europe’s fastest growing online retailers.

Name: Nadia Sotiropoulou, Travel Measurement Lead

Title: Doing Good with Data

Bio:

Nadia has spent her career to date deep in data and has always been drawn to the profession due to its endless possibilities of influencing big organisational decisions. Nadia started off working for HM Government as an Economist using analytics to inform policy, then moved to Marketing Analytics at News UK. Following that, she spent a couple of years working at M&S building the company’s Test & Learn capability, applying rigour to evaluating the impact of any large business investment before decisions on national roll out were made. At Google, Nadia supports large Travel clients through the complexity of evaluating advertising dollars.

Name: Harry Davies, Head of Measurement & Analytics

Bio:

Harry started his career in account planning and evaluation, working on campaigns for the UK Government – convincing people to stop doing things that they enjoyed and start doing things they didn’t. He then moved to Google where he has had a range of roles working on marketing strategy. He took a short holiday to work at Amazon, launching their self-service ads products across Europe, but missed Google so much, he came back to lead the

Measurement and Analytics team in the UK. The team aims to use science to make every ad effective, they focus on marketing experiments, marketing mix models, attribution modelling and connecting online and offline activities. He is also studying for a PhD looking into how businesses are using large data sets to improve their marketing effectiveness.
