You and Your Team:

As a UX/UI Designer, you will be reporting to the Head of Creative Design. As a UX/UI Designer you’ll play a critical role in creating beautiful, intuitive, engaging, and effective user experiences across all of our customer touch points.

You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to understand their needs and translate them into compelling design solutions for the Vanquis and Snoop brands – aligning design solutions with our purpose, and desired customer and business outcomes.

Working alongside our senior UX designers and the Creative lead, you’ll be expected to produce design solutions that resonate with our target audience,

You’ll have a heavy focus on visual design, but also be expected to support the business with UX Research and Analysis, Design Execution and Validation, Interaction Design creating mock-ups, prototypes and ultimately pixel perfect designs that bring the customer journeys to life.

In your day-to-day role, as a UX/UI Designer you will:

Digital Design Execution and Validation

  • You’ll work as part of a delivery-focussed team of designers on the development of Snoop and VBG digital experiences.
  • App/Web Wireframing and Prototyping: Create wireframes, mock-ups, and interactive prototypes to communicate design ideas and concepts. You’ll use rapid prototyping to test the usability of your designs and interactions. You’ll iterate quickly, and advocate for great design.
  • Information Architecture: Organize and structure content and functionality to support user navigation and understanding.
  • Interaction Design: Design interactive elements and ensure seamless user interactions within the product.
  • You’ll understand our customers - working with our Customer Experience team and our customers directly, you’ll grow our understanding of who our customers are and what they need – ensure the UX of our products is where it needs to be, and our comms and marketing resonate with our audience types.
  • Accessibility: Ensure designs are accessible to users with various disabilities by adhering to accessibility standards and best practices.
  • You’ll have an eye for detail, design consistency, and care about pixel perfection.

Brand Identity and Visual Design:

  • You’ll work with the Senior UX and Creative lead to shape and maintain Snoop and VBG’s internal and external design language to ensure consistency and coherence across all design assets and communications.
  • Apply visual design principles to create aesthetically pleasing and functional interfaces.
  • You’ve have an interest in developing broader graphic design skills to help experience across broader customer touchpoints and just digital (e.g. social assets, print, packaging and physical spaces).
  • Collaborate with marketing, product, and UX/UI teams to develop design solutions that drive engagement and achieve business objectives.

Creative delivery:

  • Work within the cross functional app team to design experiences that utilise native and common design patterns to effectively deliver customer and business outcomes.
  • Attend app and web sprint ceremonies and iterate designs based on customer and technical feedback.
  • Develop pixel perfect design artefacts to support the app and web development process – providing prototypes and detailed design specs to test, validate, communicate and aid the development of sprint deliverables).

Creative Strategy and Innovation:

  • Take part in brainstorming sessions and concept ideation workshops to generate fresh and impactful design concepts.

What will make you stand out?

  • At least 2 years experience in digital /product agency environments, with a good portfolio showcasing your creative vision, design and delivery expertise.
  • Strong graphic design skills – visual design principles, typography, layout, colour theory, and other aspects of design.
  • Experience of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
  • Experience working within digital user experience design team – using tools that support the iterative design process such as Sketch, Figma, Invision, Zeplin and Miro.
  • Good knowledge of web and mobile application design systems.
  • Experience of creating user journey maps, wireframes, and clickable protoypes.
  • Experience of testing everything from concepts to fully realised on-device designs to derive insights about our customers.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Animation experience would be a bonus (After Effect / Lottie).
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to strongly articulate your ideas.
  • Proven ability to Interact directly with customers and conduct customer research.
  • Proven ability of working collaboratively across teams, suppliers and stakeholders to get things done.
  • Experience working in a cross-functional team and develop designs in an iterative and feedback dependent environment.
  • Experience designing and working with design systems for both mobile and web application (UX and UI)

The interview process:

  • Up to 30minute telephone call with a member of the Talent Acquisition team
  • Up to 1 hour competency based interview with the hiring team
  • Final interview with Senior Manager of the team, up to 1 hour
