We’re excited to be hiring a Threat Intelligence Specialist to join our dynamic and collaborative Threat and Vulnerability team on a full-time, permanent basis! You’ll be part of a supportive team that thrives on teamwork and innovation, where your expertise will be valued as we work together to tackle the ever-evolving cyber threat landscape.

Your new role

Reporting to the Threat & Vulnerability Manager, you'll be responsible for researching, analysing, and disseminating cyber threat data to protect QBE’s global operations, including monitoring the cyber threat landscape and existing defence mechanisms. You'll also be involved in leading threat investigations, generating intelligence-driven recommendations, and supporting security functions like incident response and vulnerability management.

Main responsibilities:

  • Perform advanced analysis of cyber threats using proactive and reactive threat hunting methods.
  • Analyse intelligence reports and security events, providing evidence-based recommendations for countermeasures.
  • Conduct threat hunting activities and participate in incident response investigations.
  • Collect, process, and share cyber intelligence from various sources to create actionable results.
  • Monitor adversary activities and provide operational and strategic information to stakeholders.
  • Continuously assess threat landscape, exposure, and preparedness.
  • Generate regular intelligence reports on current threats and vulnerabilities for relevant stakeholders.
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to enhance security and knowledge sharing.

About You

We're looking for a candidate with a sound understanding of the cyber threat landscape, attack types and techniques, security operations, threat intelligence, and security monitoring tools, as well as the ability to effectively analyse security event data from various source.

Skills you'll need:

  • Advanced understanding of tools, techniques, and procedures used by modern attackers.
  • Knowledge of security frameworks like OWASP, NIST, MITRE ATT&CK, and the Extended Cyber Kill Chain.
  • Proficient in risk analysis, management principles, and best practices for information systems.
  • Expertise in intelligence gathering and analysis tools, including OSINT.
  • Strong knowledge of attacker tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs), malware analysis, and IOC identification.
  • Experience in using knowledge of the cyber threat landscape to deliver actionable intelligence that supports operational and strategic teams.
  • Security certifications in any of the following: SANS (GCTI, GCIH, GCIA, GPEN, GREM), ISC2 (CISSP, CCSP), CEH, CREST, OSCP or equivalent (not essential)
