About the Role

  • Own the prioritisation and allocation of inventory within all ad-serving platforms including Google Ad Manager.
  • Manage operational integrations with advertising vendors and act as the key point of contact for our brand safety vendor.
  • Collaborate with the Revenue Operations team to forecast monetisation potential and make data-driven recommendations to maximise inventory revenue.
  • Develop strategies to optimise inventory value in response to internal and external factors, such as brand safety, traffic spikes and sell-through rates.
  • Monitor ad stack performance and oversee technical setup to ensure efficient delivery and governance of third-party tags.
  • Lead the setup, configuration, and troubleshooting of our programmatic supply platforms.
  • Report on overall inventory capacity, identifying key trends and drivers, and contribute to pricing and budgeting decisions.
  • Represent Digital Optimisation in cross-functional discussions on the impact of new technologies or strategic changes on ad revenue and inventory.
  • Maintain oversight of ad unit structure and usage guidelines across the Guardian’s digital platforms.

About You

We’re looking for someone who brings:

  • In-depth knowledge of digital and programmatic advertising technologies, including Google Ad Manager and brand safety tools.
  • Strong experience in quantitative analysis and statistical modelling.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • A commercially-minded and analytical approach to problem solving.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to simplify complex technical concepts for varied stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to influence and collaborate across departments and functions.
  • A proactive, solution-oriented mindset and the ability to anticipate issues before they arise.

We value and respect all differences (seen and unseen) in all people. We aspire to have inclusive working experiences and an environment that reflects the audience we serve, where our people have equal access to career development opportunities, their voices are heard and can contribute to our future.
