About the Early Careers programme

QBE’s Early Careers sustainability programme gives you an opportunity to work in an environment where you can build your interpersonal skills, develop professionally, and accelerate your career.

This is a new, permanent role where you will join our early careers community (they’re a great network!) and be enrolled onto our 2-year professional apprenticeship programme; upon successful completion you will achieve a qualification specific to the business area you apply to.

Sustainability and Underwriting Governance Data Analyst

Your New Role

  • Supporting the Sustainability Manager and other key stakeholders develop and implement processes relating to the use of data-driven insights, including behavioural data, data relating to the net-zero transition and governance data.
  • Consolidating, reviewing, and developing insights from large data sets.
  • Summarising technical output in a succinct and logical manner for presentation to a wide variety of stakeholders.
  • Proposing solutions to improve and enhance the use of data within the Chief Underwriting Office and other functions.
  • Working closely with colleagues from across the Chief Underwriting Office, Underwriting, Pricing and Data Science and Risk Teams on various projects as required.
  • Providing broader data support to the Underwriting Governance function as required.

About you

  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent – specialisation in data preferred.
  • An interest and passion in climate change and sustainability-related matters, with an enthusiasm for exploring how data insights can help to minimise the environmental and social impact of QBEs underwriting activities and help inform better underwriting.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint – coding experience preferred.
  • Ability to identify problems and self-identify solutions.
  • An ability and desire to work collaboratively and operate successfully at all levels in the organization to drive excellent outcomes.
