Solutions Architect

The Opportunity

QBE Europe is currently recruiting a solutions architect to join a well-established architecture team in our London Office. This role will play a pivotal role and impact as we embark on our modernisation journey within our technology and transformation function.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to make a significant impact in a leading insurance company. As a Solutions Architect at QBE Europe, you will be at the forefront of our efforts to modernize and transform our technology landscape. You will have the chance to work with a talented and collaborative team, and your contributions will directly influence the success of our modernisation initiatives.

Your new role

• Ensure solutions are aligned with business strategy, IT standards, and constraints.
• Contribute to the creation of solution designs for projects, including dependency analysis.
• Work with the business to ensure project scope and designs are accurately communicated.
• Support the development of business cases for new projects.
• Review peer solution designs, costs, benefits, and technical designs.
• Design technical solutions efficiently following processes and procedures.
• Conduct technology assurance and governance aligned with architecture policy.
• Define the approach for structuring each application using appropriate technology solutions.
• Promote adherence to IT Strategy, Architecture Principles, and Roadmaps.

About you

• Previous experience as a technical lead or solution architect.
• Experience within insurance or financial services would be preferred.
• Significant experience in project delivery.
• Experience in translating business requirements into infrastructure solutions across various technologies.
• Good understanding of project delivery methodologies.
• Experience of building solutions from defined architecture standards and patterns.
• Experience of public cloud platforms and services.
