Core Responsibilities
- Explore how to use technology and data to develop solutions that improve productivity and efficiency across various operations
- Collaborate across various specialties, working closely with engineers, product managers, and other partners using an agile approach to identify, achieve and adapt team goals
- Explore recent technologies and methods and build prototypes with the product team
- Help set direction and culture in a new team with no legacy systems
Play your part in our team succeeding
As a Senior Software Engineer joining a newly formed product team in Omnichannel, Manufacturing & Product Engineering (OMP), you will play a key role in developing digital solutions for our innovative industrial sorting technology. In this role, you are focused on developing digital modules for recognizing and sorting LEGO bricks by various parameters using imaging sensors. These modules will be designed for industrial applications, ensuring they are robust, secure, and scalable. You will join early in the product phase, so you can make a significant impact on chosen technologies and methods. You will collaborate closely with other engineers, using collective expertise to drive mechanical and digital innovation throughout the development process. You will also explore the potential to integrate cloud solutions to enhance connectivity and data management as the project evolves. Our ambition is to design these modules for versatility and reusability, as a solution for various projects that primarily support our company’s environmental sustainability goals.
Do you have what it takes?
- Strong proficiency in machine learning within the broader field of AI, with a focus on computer vision
- Good programming skills in various programming languages (Python primarily)
- Innovative problem-solving abilities and creative thinking skills to find simple solutions in complex spaces
- Good analytical and statistical skills to interpret complex visual data effectively
- Enthusiasm for technology and a drive for experimenting with innovative ideas
- Enjoy bridging the gap between software and the physical world
- Great communication and documentation skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaborate effectively in a team and help foster a positive team culture
Furthermore, it would be a nice add on with:
- Experience with computer vision technologies and libraries (such as OpenCV), vision systems and/or object recognition
- Experience with 3D image processing and recognition
- Proficiency of neural network techniques
- Experience with creating prototypes, to quickly test hypotheses
