Senior Manager, Product Management

At Expedia Group, our mission is to power global travel for everyone, everywhere. As a Senior Manager - Product Management you will lead a team responsible for the strategy and management of data products used to drive data-informed decision-making across the organization and enhancing the overall customer experience by ensuring we capture, analyze, and act upon the voice of the customer.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams across product, engineering, data science, UX, and business units to design and deliver scalable data products that provide actionable insights. The ideal candidate has a strong background in data strategy, product management, and a deep understanding of data product development. Your products will enable 1000s of users to understand the data powering Expedia Group and uncover new insights: improving the speed and quality of decision-making throughout EG.

Responsibilities 

  • Lead and develop a team of Product Managers and Operations Analysts with a focus on empowering the team, aiming for continuous development of existing skills.
  • Ownership of a wide analytics and customer feedback products portfolio, involving multiple internal stakeholders to drive the strategy and execution for each product.
  • Formulate the vision, strategy and roadmap (direction, outcomes, product mix, new features, retirement of old products), and work with others in aligning the strategic priorities, dependencies and roadmap across the product portfolio; representing this to senior leadership stakeholders across EG.
  • Plan and co-ordinate significant product development efforts following agile best practices
  • Communicate user needs and business outcomes to the engineering teams and support breaking down complex work
  • Drive initiatives to integrate customer feedback data into broader business systems
  • Deeply understand your user personas, stakeholders and Expedia Group's strategy.
  • Accountable for the impact of the product and work towards achieving measurable outcomes using OKRs
  • Lead continuous discovery for new and existing products/features, collaborating with engineering teams to experiment and validate hypotheses.
  • Provide leadership and direction to cross-functional team(s) on priorities and opportunities.
  • Provide support and coaching across the product community and contribute to continuous improvement of product management practices

Key Skills 

  • Multiple years of experience in Product Management, with 3 or more years working in Senior or Lead positions within Analytics - (bonus if you have a background developing successful analytics products)
  • You consider yourself an empathetic leader and have experience managing Product Managers and you really enjoy that part of the job.
  • Leading the product management of complex technology products and a clear understanding of managing domain boundaries across a large organization.
  • Experience building-out new products and platforms in coordination with data science, engineering, analysts and business teams
  • Background in analytics/insight with experience enabling data consumers & decision makers desirable.
  • Understanding of trends and opportunities in the AI space and experience leveraging AI in your products
  • Understanding of Natural Language Processing (NLP) and building Large Language Models (LLMs)
  • Leveraging the OKR framework to deliver user & business outcomes
  • A methodical/analytical approach and great problem-solving skills
  • Attitude and the aptitude to learn new a product area/domain quickly
  • Strong decision making and prioritization skills, guided by data, especially when multiple trade-offs are involved and fast-paced decisions are required
  • Empathy and good listening skills to understand the needs/ pain points of your customers/ stakeholders
  • Strong communicator with the ability to lead presentations/workshops with a variety of stakeholders to achieve a desired outcome
