The role

We’re looking for a Senior Insight Analyst to join our Group Data team!

Data at N Brown has recently been elevated to one of the 5 strategic pillars, with a mission to establish data as an asset to win. The Group Data function, led by the Director of Data reporting to the CEO, has been established to define and implement the enterprise data vision and strategy. What will you do as a Senior Insight Analyst at N Brown?

  • Using your data knowledge, create exploratory data analysis to answer key business questions.
  • Create engaging feedback and recommendations from your analysis to help stakeholders make data driven decisions. Use data vis skills to help you achieve this.
  • Create great working relationships with stakeholders and hence collaborate together to combine analytical and domain knowledge to create better decision making processes.
  • Work with stakeholders to prioritise the analytics workstack so that the most important business questions get answered first.
  • Help your stakeholders create a test and learn culture within their departments and hence help the business in becoming more data led.
  • When necessary, produce dashboards that can help stakeholders and colleagues with self-serve analytics.
  • Ensure that the analytical methods we use align with best practice both scientifically and within our subject domain.
  • Mentor other colleagues in analytics team to help them learn best practice within analytics. Help other data colleagues learn and develop their coding skills.
  • Be able to work across several platforms, ensuring that your work is carried out in the platform that best suits coming to a timely answer on your task.
  • Across Group Data sharing knowledge and learning whilst seeking to develop a better team culture.
  • Creating a culture of standardisation to coding and methodologies across Analytics and wider Group Data teams.

What skills and experience will you have?

  • Proficient in database languages, mainly SQL used day to day.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, primarily Excel.
  • An understanding of Python.
  • Capable of developing dashboards using a business intelligence tool, such as Power BI, Tableau, Qlik (we use Power BI currently).
  • Experience sourcing and joining data from multiple data sources, using a variety of database languages and data analysis tools.
  • Good working knowledge of relational databases and data structures.
  • Experience of working closely with Stakeholders to deliver actionable insight.
  • Experience or willingness to mentor colleagues.
