About the Role

Our Digital Transformation Practice helps corporates, private equity firms and other constituencies build long term competitive advantage, accelerate revenue growth and drive investment valuations while optimizing cost. We bring together lean, fast-moving teams of expert technologists, digital specialists and data scientists to advise our clients on their digital transformation agendas and transaction needs.

We work with clients to understand the impact of rapidly evolving digital paradigms and emerging technologies on the future of their business, translating that into an executable strategy and blueprint that combines business model innovation, customer experience strategy, modern technology and data architectures with a rigorous focus on planning and execution.  We assist clients on their high stakes transactions needs ranging from acquisition and divestment strategy to technology and digital due diligence, merger and acquisition (M&A) integration planning and carve outs.

What You’ll Do

The Principal MDM Architect will be a leader in the Data Transformation offering of FTI’s Digital Transformation practice. This role will advise clients and internal teams on Master Data aspects of significant enterprise data transformations for our clients and can be included as part of broader business and digital transformation mandates or standalone strategic data assignments.

The candidate will focus on problem solving to design, architect, and present findings and solutions, leading team members, and working with a wide variety of clients to sell and deliver MDM and associated consulting services. They will be the go-to resource for understanding our clients’ problems and responding with appropriate methodologies solutions anchored around data architectures, platforms, and solutions, and will develop materials and design solutions or approaches to support business development activities.

Engagement Delivery and leadership

  • Lead master data strategy engagement with clients, engage with senior IT, digital and business leaders to develop strategy and solution.
  • Work closely with client stakeholders to understand their master data requirements and develop MDM strategies that align with business objectives and advise on MDM architecture / implementation paradigms
  • Lead the design and development of MDM solutions for clients across all master data domains, using a variety of industry leading tools.
  • Design, propose, engineer and execute data cleansing, mapping, and transformation activities, with FTI, client and partner team mates
  • Develop data models, data integrations, workflows, data governance programs and data quality rules to support MDM initiatives.
  • Collaborate with client, FTI and partner team members to implement MDM solutions and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
  • Monitor and track project progress, identify and resolve issues, and ensure project deliverables meet quality standards.
  • Communicate project status, risks, and issues to key stakeholders, and ensure alignment with project objectives.
  • Stay current on Informatica and other leading solutions for MDM best practices, new features, and updates, and recommend enhancements to the platform.

Business Development

  • Work closely with FTI teams to identify new MDM opportunities, and develop approaches, proposals and client presentations to win new engagements.
  • Strategize and propose solution to client problems standalone or as part of a broader digital transformation
  • Identify business value in MDM solutions
  • Develop and deliver proposals and pitches to clients
  • Support broader data management, digital and technical pursuits

Practice development (including team development)

  • Build awareness of MDM among business leaders within FTI and clients
  • Design and bring to market new MDM based solutions, integrated with broader transformation objectives.
  • Lead and mentor junior architects and developers, providing guidance, support, and feedback as needed.
  • Develop go to market, proposal and delivery standards, best practices and tools/accelerators to help with delivery.
  • Lead and manage project teams, providing guidance, support, and mentoring to team members.
  • Prepare thought leadership materials for publishing
  • Present and speak at industry events

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, information systems or related field
  • 6+ years of post-graduate experience
  • Ability to travel to clients and to FTI offices as needed

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a consulting environment
  • Deep MDM expertise on both the business utilization and technical solutions. Experience with MDM project delivery and project management
  • Experience with MDM operating models, data governance, data architectures, implementation paradigms. Experience with commonly found adjacent applications (ERP, CRM, CPQ, eCommerce etc.) and data repositories (warehouses, lakes, fabrics etc.)
  • Experience leading data teams for client transformations, including data strategy, engineering, modeling, mapping, cleansing, movement, data platform designs
  • Proficiency in data modeling techniques and the ability to choose appropriate architectural design patterns, including Data Fabrics, Data Mesh, Lake Houses, or Delta lakes
  • Previous hands-on coding skills in languages commonly used in data engineering, such as Python, Java, or Scala
