Senior Data Specialist, Data Enablement

Job Description

We are looking for our next Senior Data Specialist who can be our ambassador for the Data Office and an active member of the Data Foundation team!
Core Responsibilities
You will become part of a team full of incredible talents who strive to build and improve a high quality data foundation on the LEGO Group’s Data Platform and coordinate the delivery of the semantic layer across multiple data flows and partners!
Your responsibilities will be to:
You will help deliver on our ETL and data foundation strategy around the SSDP across a wide and varied spectrum of data sources as well as to be the link between data engineers, product managers, data owners, platform engineers and other partners, coordinating, driving and translating requirements for data flows across all. In addition, you will:
- Bring your knowledge in data structures into engagements with business areas, helping them to understand and achieve their data goals.
- Ensure dataset frameworks are aligned with policies around data governance.
- Assess the suitability of, prioritise, coordinate and drive the migration of centralized data flows to the self-service tool.
- Advise our business partners on data flow options to meet their foundational requirements.
- Context-switch seamlessly between being an advisor and a learner, taking in technical options and limitations and translating these into strategy and concrete points.
- Lead and provide input to initiatives to help define the right data flow architecture and deliver tangible results quickly.

This role is to drive value from data across the entire organization. Our team builds and runs our central Data Platform, and is a Centre of Excellence for data intelligence, data science, machine learning and artificial intelligence.
In this role you will play a crucial part in transforming our organization to being engineering and architecture led within the Data Office. You will be working with both technical and non-technical business partners to coordinate the delivery of solutions with proper architecture that will enable the company to become data driven.
Do you have what it takes?
Ideally, you have degree in Business Intelligence, Data and Systems Analysis, Data Engineering, Business Analysis or similar. You have 5+ years' working experience in a data focused environment, with a focus on data pipelines and data modelling. Furthermore, you have:
- Experience managing structured customer engagement and communications.
- Experience in consulting, enabling internal customers.
- Solid SQL and/or Python experience.
- Experience with data modelling, building and optimizing ETL pipelines.
- Demonstrable ability to drive delivery in complex, multi-functional environments.
- Exposure with data compliance frameworks and regulation.
- Experience working within an Agile environment.
It would be an absolute bonus to have:
- Experience managing complex transformation projects, with focus both on technology and organizational change.
- Data engineering experience, optimizing pipelines and building strong semantic layer data products.
- Experience in training and providing documentation for customers and junior team members.
