Senior Data Scientist, Moderation

Core Responsibilities:
The utilization of Data Science and AI is rapidly growing within the LEGO Group. We use the methodologies to discover deeper insights, make predictions, or generate recommendations to continue delivering world class learning-through play experiences to children.
You will be joining the Data Science & AI organisation, which is the home of 50 data scientists and engineering colleagues, distributed across our Denmark and UK offices.
You will be part of the moderation product team, working alongside Software and Data/MLOps Engineers, which has the purpose moderating the LEGO Group’s online channels to ensure that we have a safe digital experience for kids and adults. Additionally, you will get to work on Data Science opportunities in adjacent product teams in the Consumer Technology area as the need arises.
Your tasks will include:
- Advise on the direction for the AI/ML systems for moderating online channels.
- Ensure continuous high performance of the deployed moderation services and algorithms, defining and measuring key performances indicators, and conducting experiments.
- Develop and implement customized moderation models.
- Collaborating with stakeholders to ensure that data science work is delivering real value.
- Provide actionable insights to stakeholders based on data analysis.
- Staying up to date with AI & machine learning developments across the industry.
- Work on adjacent Data Science opportunities and consulting on adjacent product team when required.
- Contribute to our ways of working and help establish best practices.
Do you have what it takes?
We are looking for a candidate with emphasis on one or more of the following: data science, computer science, engineering, mathematics, or an equivalent quantitative subject area.
You have previous experience creating working ML and AI solutions in a large organization and are used to working in an agile cross functional setup and with a broad range of stakeholders.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to communicate complex data relationships effectively
- Proficiency with Python (or similar languages) and its libraries for machine learning such as PySpark, scikit-learn, pandas and pytorch.
- Practical experience in data science, spanning both analytics to derive the right solutions and implementation of Machine Learning models.
- Collaborative spirit and a playful can-do attitude.
- Persistent with a well-rounded view on creating solutions.
- Experience with tools and platforms such as Databricks and MLflow for ML training and experimenting is highly desirable.
- Experience in consumer engagement or content moderation domain will be considered a bonus.
