Senior Data Engineering Manager - Lloyds Banking Group
London (hybrid working pattern, 2 days per week in office & rest from home)
Salary & Benefits: £81-115k base salary, depending on location and experience.

CDAO brings together Data Engineering, Data Science, Business Intelligence (BI) and Data Management. Helping to build data solutions across all areas of the business such as; customer segmentation, pricing, customer experience, credit decisioning, commercial performance and fraud detection.

 

As a Senior Data Engineering Manager
Being part of the engineering leadership team, you’ll help to develop and champion engineering principles, tooling and frameworks across our 80+ data engineers.

 

You’ll guide engineers to solve problems revolving around data and help them to craft solutions. A key focus of this role will be to support our adoption of cloud.

 

You'll work closely with our engineers to help shape, design, and build data pipelines and analytics solutions across a range of platforms.

 

You’ll champion the development and adoption of tools and frameworks which simplify complexities and ensure our solutions are of the highest quality.

 

A large part of this role will be line management focused, and you will have up to 15 people reporting into you, with responsibility for their learning and development, plus day-to-day task management.

 

You’ll get the opportunity to coach and support the team across several technical areas, which include Python and SQL, knowledge of Big Data solutions and traditional data warehousing techniques.

 

You’ll get the chance to help develop the engineering community by leading initiatives. Other important part of the role includes resource management, budget management and recruitment.

What we’re looking for
•    Management of multiple teams, with the ability to work across teams, facilitating, and pushing projects forward, upholding standards.
•    Experience of delivering data engineering pipelines to support adoption of new capabilities.
•    A breadth of knowledge of potential solutions utilising Data Science, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence or BI (You’ll need a grounding in more than one area in order to provide technical leadership to our Chapter)
•    Experience of working in the cloud both from a design and build point of view (GCP, AWS or Azure)
•    Experience working with technical and non-technical audiences - asking intelligent questions and able to make complex data analysis simple.
•    Depth of knowledge around standard data management practices, and for what can be achieved using data and an appreciation of what benefits can be derived from data.

Additional Package:
Annual personal bonus, 15% employer pension contribution (when you put in 6%), 4% flexible cash allowance, private medical insurance, 30 days holiday plus bank holidays.
