Would you like to focus on building efficient and understandable data products for consumers?

We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join our growing team based in Billund to help our teams building the next generation Data Platform.

Core Responsibilities

  • Design, build and/or configure end-to-end applications through close collaboration with other product team members
  • Engineer products to the highest standards of security and data privacy by implementing and following LEGO Group security and data privacy principles from ideation to production release and beyond.
  • Engineer products that implement business logic, modern design patterns, architectural principles and follow highest coding standards e.g., documentation and efficiency
  • Ensure product robustness and reliability by writing and driving unit and integration tests
  • Improve operational efficiency by developing automation tools for daily tasks
  • Build efficient and optimal solutions by challenging ideas/opinions
  • Suggest and define future stories to support the Product Owner

The overall expectation for a Senior Engineer is to be making consistent meaningful improvements to the product team, championing standard methodologies in their chosen area and taking ownership for the things they do. You should have a Tactical Implementation focus.

Working as a Senior Engineer at The LEGO Group means engineering the backbone of creativity through technology. By using innovative tools and methodologies, we ensure that data becomes a catalyst for innovation, enabling the seamless collaboration and strategic decision-making that push the boundaries of what's possible. Team works 3 days per week from our Billund Campus.

Do you have what it takes?

  • Proficient in modern object-oriented programming languages such as Python and GO
  • Knowledge of cloud and the corresponding services and architecture design patterns, like event driven architectures and microservices
  • Strive in building high quality REST APIs.
  • Experience working with SQL/NoSQL databases
  • Comfortable working with Scrum
  • Knowledge of Software Engineer standard methodologies, e.g. DevOps, CI/CD, unit-testing, security
  • Team-player who can also work independently

Nice to have experience with:

  • IaC, preferably Terraform
  • Databricks or similar data processing platforms.
  • Used to mentoring and guiding less experienced engineers
  • Writing technical documentation and ADRs
  • React and micro-frontends
  • Queuing and streaming data with Apache Pulsar
  • AWS implementations
