In this role, you will:
- Build and optimise data pipelines using PySpark, SparkSQL & Databricks to ingest and enrich data.
- Organise data to enable business users, innovate and extract value.
- Collaborate with various business units to understand their data needs and deliver impactful solutions.
- Engage in cross-functional teamwork, fostering strong relationships within the data team and beyond.
- Play a pivotal role in Asda's digital and data transformation journey, leveraging analytics to shape our future.
Let's find out about you
- Experience acquiring structured, semi-structured and unstructured data from various sources, including databases, blob storage, API’s and event streams.
- Expertise with SQL and/or Python data pipelines - Particularly in PySpark, SparkSQL or Databricks.
- A good understanding of the concepts around data modelling in an enterprise with hands on experience – implementation of Data Vault is a bonus.
- Hands on experience using Azure Data services
- Any experience with streaming analytics is advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
- The ability to deal with ambiguity and make sense of complex data landscapes
- Bring a diversity of thought to solving problems.
