Why our role?

You will spend your time building scalable and reliable data solutions in GCP that are vital to the business. With our focus on innovation, you will be empowered to be creative in your problem solving, giving you the freedom to choose the tech you use, the approach you take and how you implement solutions whilst maintaining a high standard.

Utilising your tech knowledge, you will mentor data colleagues, whilst collaborating with partners across the business to understand their teams and objectives.

Building on our self-serve data focus, this role is integral to moving the data engineering function forward. Holding a high level of autonomy, this role will see you having exposure to all elements of our data platform, giving you freedom with the scope of your work and making key decisions into how the team operates.

What to expect from the recruitment process:

Generally our data recruitment processes have 3 stages:

1. Screening call with Chess (TA Partner) to chat through the role, any questions you have and your experience - 30 mins
2. Video interview with the Hiring Manager and anther colleague to discuss the role, the team and your experience - 60 mins
   1. Prep could be to think about your technical skills and our Group Behaviours: grow and develop, create belonging and innovate to deliver
3. Video or face-to-face interview focused on a technical assessment and competency questions - 90 mins

Prep could be to complete part of a technical exercise or produce an architecture diagram

What do we need from you?

• Solid Python skills
• Strong SQL skills
• An understanding of modern software development lifecycle processes such as CI/CD, ideally using GitHub Actions
• Experience with cloud platforms e.g. GCP / AWS
• Confirmed experience developing, building, deploying and supporting scalable, robust data solutions that tackle sophisticated data challenges
