Are you skilled and passionate about data catalogs and Data Governance? We are looking to expand our team with a Senior Data Catalog Specialist to define and maintain information structures, meta-data standards, business glossary and more in the data catalog, required to support Data Governance.

 

This role will play an important part in how we shape and perform Data Governance across the LEGO Group.

Core Responsibilities

In collaboration with the team, you will define and maintain information structures in the data catalog, required to support Data Governance as well as define and maintain data catalog meta-data standards, guidelines and processes for Data Governance content. Furthermore, you will drive the development, implementation and maintenance of the Business Glossary and ensure curation of content. In addition, you will:

  • Drive collaboration with the data catalog product team, data engineers, enterprise architects and other partners across the IT organization
  • Ensure training, onboarding and support of Data Governance roles responsible for maintaining meta-data in the data catalog, enabling them to be successful
  • Track status and progress on Data Governance related meta-data quality in the data catalog – and ensure follow-up
  • Connect information structures for Data Governance with other structures (e.g. Enterprise Data Model, Data Mesh)
  • Gather feedback from relevant data catalog users and contributors and drive continuous improvement
  • Act as domain expert on Data Governance within the data catalog
  • Shape and define this role and set the direction

Data Governance is a team within the Data Office. Our purpose is to build trust in and unlock the value from data - by driving Data Governance across the LEGO Group. You will be ensuring a data catalog fit for Data Governance in close collaboration with experienced Data Governance and Data Quality Specialists.

 

Do you have what it takes?

You come with a track-record in structuring, modelling and maintaining enterprise-wide data catalogs (preferably in Collibra) in large organizations with a complex data landscape. You are skilled in meta-data management, information modelling and data architecture. In addition, you have:

  • Experience with leading and curating a Business Glossary
  • Deep understanding of frameworks, tools and technology for data catalogs and how to develop and implement them
  • Ability to collaborate with specialists and managers in IT/Digital teams and business
  • Skills in developing communication and training materials and training people in data catalogs
  • Passion about Data Governance as well as patience and persistence by nature

Nice to have:

  • Experience using LeanIX
  • Understanding of data mesh concepts and principles
