Senior Data Analyst
We are looking for a Senior Data Analyst to join us! In this role you'll take full accountability for the data analysis for the data platform and associated data solutions.
You will report into the Data Delivery Manager and works alongside the Data Engineers in the implementation of the data platform.
- Ensuring that data is well documented and that data governance principles are applied to data usage and access and ensure that data risks are identified and mitigated.
- Working in partnership with third party supplier to ensure that user and stakeholder outcomes are represented and delivered.
- To work with business users of data and the data engineering team to establish requirements for the sourcing and enrichment of data in the platform.
- Ensuring that both business and data requirements are well understood and documented, and that the value of data can be maximised across current and potential use cases.
- Working with users to analyse and resolve data requests and issues. Ensure that the data is well understood and used for appropriate purposes across the business.
- Providing insights and leadership in the application of best data practices of the management of data in the data platform and of the use of data across the organisation.
- Supporting strategic data projects in ensuring that knowledge of vendor data and data enrichment is captured in project requirements and deliveries of the data platform.
- Ensuring all analysis, decisions made and activity undertaken is fulfilling of this role considers the fair treatment of our customers.
- An excellent understanding of the data platform components in Azure (e.g. when a data hub is the right solution vs. the data warehouse);
- An excellent understanding of data quality dimensions.
- A good understanding of data governance principles.
- Knowledge of where data in stored within the data platform and source systems
- An excellent understanding of finance instruments, market data and pensions.
- The ability to profile data and understand the structure of source files (e.g. key value pairs, extended header records, JSON, XML, etc).
- Excellent attention to detail, and ability to work efficiently across priorities and to project deadline.
- The ability to model data and align it to a logical data model.
- Proven interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both written and orally, within a project team.
- The ability to diagnose a business problem and translate that into a set of data requirement.
