Senior Business Intelligence Developer

Data and Analytics is foundational to almost every element of our Petcare Strategy and is at the heart of several business transformations. To support this, we have organised ourselves to build data analytics products in three priority areas:
- Data for Growth - fueling organic growth and building strong customer relationships
- Data for Core – transforming our supply chain and power sustainability efforts
- Data for Science – providing the interface between data and life sciences
Senior Business Intelligence Developers are responsible for creating and deploying high quality Business Intelligence products and solutions. They will work in multi discipline squads with Product Managers, Delivery Managers, Data Engineers, Data Scientists to deliver high value products that focus on addressing some of Petcare’s biggest challenges.
Senior Business Intelligence Developers are expected to lead Business Intelligence efforts in the squad they are working in, that involves supporting the product manager with stakeholder conversations, owning the design for the solution and coaching junior team members.
What are we looking for?
Essentials
- 5+ years’ experience building high quality Business Intelligence products and solutions
- Strong ability to coach, guide and motivate junior team members
- Deep understanding of the Microsoft technology stack, specifically PowerBI, Databricks & Azure Cloud
- Proficiency in SQL, strong understanding of ETL and ELT processes
- Strong communication skills, ability to translate complex messages into concise, easy-to-understand messages
- Strong story telling skills, ability to influence decision makers through stories derived from high quality Business Intelligence
Nice to haves
- Experience developing in Python
- Familiar with developing Data Analytics products in multi-discipline Scrum Agile teams
- Experience in a Consumer Packaged Goods or Retail organisation
What will be your key responsibilities?
- Designing and developing high quality Business Intelligence products and solutions
- Leading the Business Intelligence aspects for your squad
- Supporting, coaching and developing junior Business Intelligence team members
- Supporting the Head of Business Intelligence with creating the Business Intelligence Strategy for Mars Petcare
- Working with Data Analytics Product Leads to build out roadmaps for Business Intelligence products
