Job description:

Managing and leading all the editorial activities of country insight group’s reports and publications. Responsible for all the reports signing-off before it goes out of the department with utmost care for quality. Leading product improvement plan for existing reports and managing improvements in the production cycle. Taking editorial practice to dynamic level and keeping pace with current development. Making editing impactful and commercially relevant.

Responsibilities

  • Responsibility of editing all the reports and publication produced by Economist team within department.
  • Create, implement and follow house-style and overall quality of all internal and client facing editorial work. Ensure to have impactful editing.
  • Responsible for producing quality output and quality check for freelancers’ editing.
  • Providing training, supervision and mentoring of in-house and freelance editors.
  • Leading freelancers editors
  • Leading and managing all reports (existing, new, bespoke and adhoc) generated from country insights group.
  • Responsible for signing off all the reports originating from CIG.  Ensure highest standards of consistency and quality, and with a focus on ensuring strict delivery deadlines.
  • Leading and providing editorial support for the GTM, Innovation and Commercial teams as required e.g. white papers, blogs, presentations, proposal letters, concept notes etc.
  • Leading new/enhanced products for integration within the established monthly cycle model supported by repeatable, sustainable and scalable workflows.
  • Leading the tasks and timings related to the content management system and use of shared content must be fully defined and communicated. Also, leading content management system from production perspective and communication to other team members
  • Contributes to Country insight Product Development and Production projects as required such as design input on future report-based products and enhancements to the back office.
  • Design and implement the framework of having constant change in approach of editing which suits current dynamic environment and is commercially inclined.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience of editing country risk or related material
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
  • Capable of working independently on multiple assignments
  • Experience of leading projects particularly related to product development
  • Good commercial acumen
  • Experience of constructing and implementing business processes
  • A collaborative approach and ability to form and maintain strong relationships
  • Experience of publishing environment is an advantage
  • A qualification in economics or a related subject is an advantage
