Risk Data Analyst
We are looking for a Risk Data Analyst to join our team. In this role you be creating data visualisations in the most appropriate way to deliver insightful analysis to support informed business decision making and assess commercial performance.
You'll be an subject matter expert in the field of data visualisation, helping the business to make data more accessible and interpretable. Striving for automation where possible to reduce inefficiencies and cost within the business.
- Understand the data systems and structures within the business. Contribute towards improvements to these systems where possible and link understanding of source data to value-adding analytics and reporting.
- Ensure all outputs are visualised to a high standard through use of best practice. Be an advocate for data visualisation best practice, sharing knowledge and guidance with others.
- Continuously develop processes so that deliverables are created in the most efficient way to improve performance, through the use of automation and appropriate tooling choices
- Accountable for the delivery of ad hoc analytics and visualisations for internal customers; understand the business need and deliver the outcome in a flexible and insightful manner through the use of code to manipulate data (e.g. SQL) and visualisation tools to display outputs clearly (e.g. Tableau/PowerBI)
- Develop and maintain productive relationships with all stakeholders; providing advice and guidance on data, analytics and visualisation to improve their knowledge and understanding.
- Accountable for the timely delivery of regular reports to the business; always aiming for automation and standardisation to support business requirements
- Degree level qualification in a technical or numerate field or equivalent experience
- Experience of dealing with high volumes of data with excellent attention to detail and reconciliation
- Experience of creating dashboards/data visualisations with dashboarding software such as Tableau or PowerBI
- Experience of performing data manipulation and transformation to create and maintain datasets. Creation of structured datasets that facilitate efficient dashboard creation
- Experience of producing and automating regular reporting to a wide range of stakeholders through the use of analytical tools
- Have the ability to gather requirements from stakeholders across internal teams, managing expectations and guiding on approach
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, Sharepoint, PowerQuery and PowerAutomate
- Experience with dashboarding tools such as Power BI and Tableau
- Experience with coding languages for data manipulation, such as SQL
- Experience with Alteryx, Python & R is beneficial but not essential
