Job Description Summary
An opportunity has arisen for Quality engineer in the Client Data and Analytics Platform, client insights lab. Confident, highly motivated and eager to collaborate, the Quality Engineer is responsible for delivering the highest quality customer driven software to production whilst being a quick learner who can learn and adapt to new technologies being used within Lloyds and the wider industry.
It's a great opportunity to be part of a large team focused on delivering personalised and relevant insights for our business banking customers, allowing them to make the right business decisions. The proposition is being built entirely on cloud and provides a unique opportunity to work with the latest cloud tools and technologies including data on the cloud.

Salary Range: £66,861 - £74,290
About you

Knowledge & Experience
- Environment aware, ability to identify technical impediments / bottlenecks and work directly to resolve.
- Technology agnostic and willing to adapt approach in pursuit of the best solution.
- Team aware and work with team members to support delivery in T-Shaped supporting technologies.
- Understand Systems Thinking and Service Design to mitigate reactive solutions that leads to further technical debt.
- Understand the benefits of measuring change and applying metrics to improve & prove the effectiveness and efficiency of modern engineering practices.
- Understand agile and the relationship between agile ceremonial roles, and the need for DevOps tools (continuous integration, testing, delivery) to underpin any agile delivery method.
- Experience in BDD & TDD principles and writing upfront tests against team defined agile definitions and delivery stories.
- Automation experience. If there's a tool to automate manual tasks, ability to automate using DevOps.
- Industry aware and understand the importance of new technical approaches to evolve solutions and the experience of the team.
- Proficient experience with toolsets including Selenium, Cucmber, Perfecto/Mobile Farm, Appium, SauceLabs, Jenkins, etc..
- Technical background with experience of Programming Languages including JavaScript, Java, SQL/noSQL, Python, etc..

- Ability to showcase excellent interpersonal and communications skills whilst efficiently working across the project lifecycle to ensure software operates as intended.
- Ability to Work in cross-disciplinary feature teams delivering exciting customer driven solutions and high-quality software.
- Work hands-on alongside engineering colleagues to understand and develop their own technical domain knowledge and should be able to take responsibility for their actions.
- Exercise responsibility, autonomy and judgement within broad, but well-defined parameters.
- Work in a highly collaborative way to complete assigned work, showcase progress and address problems that are well defined, complex and often non-routine.
- Be quick learners who can learn and adapt to new technologies being used within Lloyds and the wider industry whilst bringing those around them on the same journey.
- Understand the importance of quality and hence create and implement approaches, guidelines, principles defined by themselves and their Principle Quality Engineering and Chapter Lead peers.
- Drive the success of Lloyds Engineering Chapters, Communities and Guilds whilst resolving impediments, issues and providing a voice for engineers within teams.
- Continually develop themselves with industry standard process in order to advance the direction of Quality Engineering in Lloyds.
- Be the domain expert of the team who is able to reduce and mitigate risk at every phase of software delivery and also be able to own Chapter as a Chapter Lead blending both deep domain and technical expertise.
- Be able to project and implement "Automation first" approach in every phase of software delivery process that aids speed to market and better quality.
- Understand business & lab priorities, and is able to facilitate the best solution designs with team members and product owners.
