About The Job
At Admiral, Data and technology take centre stage in delivering our market-leading products, and we have a large Data and Analytics function responsible for building and maintaining a cloud data eco-system which supports our data scientists and analysts to build and deploy machine learning and artificial intelligence solutions for all business areas, including Pricing, Fraud, Marketing, and Claims.
The tribe covers a wide range of disciplines including data warehousing, web development, API development, Feature Engineering and Machine learning. Each of our squads are cross functional teams supporting our data stacks and elevating Admirals data on GCP. A PO role in the tribe will lead the development of new and improvement of tooling and capabilities. These could include analytical tooling and workflows or access to data sources.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, analytical thinker who can research insights, champion our strategy, and be a key player in the implementation of a great tooling set for our analytical teams.
Main Duties
- Working with the Product lead and the wider Product team to set the vision, goals, and roadmap for the squad
- Owning and managing the product backlog for the squad including prioritising requirements in line with Admiral’s strategy and targets
- Engaging with stakeholders to understand business needs, upcoming priorities, and product demand.
- Generating ideas by working with the squad, cultivating a network across the business and through external research
- Being a positive force for the squad through promoting the vision, ensuring everyone understands the why and educating the squad about the business and its needs.
- Manage scope dependencies within the Tribe in collaboration with the team, squad lead and other Product Owners
- Engage with the squad, constructively challenge, and provide continuous feedback to ensure the squad output meets requirements. Stay actively involved throughout the delivery, supporting where possible through clarifying objectives
- Participate in sprint demos and demonstrate how squad deliveries contribute towards Admiral’s objectives
- Manage scope and business-related risks, issues and mitigations

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- A genuine interest in data and technology and a keen awareness of the art of the possible
- An analytical, problem-solving mindset understanding the bigger picture alongside sharp attention to detail
- An understanding of how to prioritise
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; specifically in translating complex business and technical concepts into clear, understandable deliverables
- Experience of working with and building strong working relationships with a large network across the organisation
- Experience of working in or closely alongside Data and/or Analytical disciplines
Desirable Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Experience using Agile working tools (i.e. Jira, or Azure DevOps, or similar)
- Product Owner Certification
- An understanding of the benefits of cloud technologies (AWS, Google or other)
- An awareness of Information Security and Data Protection principles
