Are you ready to make a tangible impact at AXA Commercial? We’re seeking a Motor Analytics Manager who will have a real opportunity to shape the way we utilise our data assets for reporting and insight generation through advanced analytic models and user-friendly dashboards. You’ll support the crucial link between our business and Insights teams as we embark on implementing new strategies and transformation programmes. You’ll tackle the challenges posed by distortions in claims trends and patterns arising from inflation, economic uncertainty, and changes in accounting regimes, ensuring that our claims data and analysis provide timely and detailed insights to inform key business decisions.

AXA Commercial has a transformational opportunity to revolutionise its business and operations through the strategic use of data, analytics, and artificial intelligence capabilities, supported by a robust and scalable architecture and infrastructure. We’re excited by the opportunity to harness the power of data to unlock value across all areas of our business, enabling faster, more efficient and better-informed decision making through automation, augmentation and advanced analytics.

At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. You'll work at least 40% of your week away from home, moving to the majority of your working week from September 2025. Away from home means either attendance at one of our office locations, visiting clients or attending industry events. We’re also happy to consider flexible working arrangements, which you can discuss with Talent Acquisition.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Enhance collaboration between the business insights, planning, pricing, and finance teams by providing analytical support and guidance.
  • Assist in developing strategic plans by projecting claims performance and loss ratios based on emerging trends and assumptions, ensuring that updates are included in monthly committees.
  • Aid the finance team in forecasting future performance by reviewing and projecting trends in premiums, claims, and loss ratios, and explaining the factors behind these trends.
  • Use market data to inform long-term projections and contribute to the annual strategic planning process, influencing the business's future direction.
  • Help create and maintain analysis tools for more frequent updates to the Commercial Lines business, developing models to assess profitability monthly using emerging data.
  • Contribute to the development of an early warning indicator platform to identify trends in claims KPIs.
  • Manage a team of MI Analysts to produce insights and recommendations that highlight risks to performance across various teams.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders in Finance, Claims, Underwriting, Actuarial, Pricing, and Reinsurance, ensuring timely information is incorporated into the reserving process.
  • Support the strategic goals of the Commercial Lines business by delivering automated Power BI reports and self-service dashboards that showcase claims performance.

Due to the number of applications we expect to receive for this role, we reserve the right to close this advert earlier than the listed closing date to ensure we’re able to effectively manage interest. Therefore, if you’re interested in joining us at AXA, please don’t hesitate to apply.

What you’ll bring:

  • Proven experience in leading insight and visualization teams to deliver strategic use cases and communicate key Claims & Financial MI effectively.
  • Expertise in building quantitative analytical models and analysing key drivers of performance.
  • Proficient in tools such as QLIK, PowerBI, and VBA for data visualization and analysis.
  • Demonstrated ability to construct and present KPIs, ensuring clarity and relevance for stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of cloud data migrations and experience in writing data pipelines, collaborating with Data Scientists, Business Insights, and Finance functions.
  • Ability to identify business challenges and create effective data solutions tailored to stakeholder needs.
  • Proven skills in planning, prioritizing work, and managing delivery teams while developing colleague capabilities.
  • Effective communication and relationship-building skills, fostering collaboration both within and outside the immediate team.
