Job Description

We are looking to hire our next Lead Data Scientist. This role will be tracking commercial performance, identifying commercial opportunities, and supporting faster and better commercial decisions through clear performance storylines and socialization of key business reports.

Core Responsibilities

  • Spearhead efforts to generate actionable insights for the company by using advanced analytics and data science methodologies.
  • Collaborate with different teams to track and analyze commercial performance, find opportunities and risks, and facilitate faster, data-driven decision-making.
  • Apply Advanced Data Science Techniques and data science modeling techniques to extract meaningful insights on products, channels, customers, shoppers, and members.
  • Conduct comprehensive short-term and mid-to-long-term analyses to inform strategic business decisions.
  • Take charge of key business processes, ensuring the delivery of clear, consistent, and relevant narratives on business performance throughout the year. Conduct post-event analyses for critical sales periods (e.g., Easter, Black Friday) and provide support for ad-hoc global performance analyses during key meetings, such as Monthly Commercial Traction and Business Performance Reviews.
  • Work closely with the Portfolio and Marketing Development team to influence product and commercial initiatives using data-driven insights. Provide analytical support to optimize marketing strategies and enhance product development decisions.
  • Answer strategic questions for global and regional teams by harnessing advanced analytics, collaborating closely with the data science team. Conduct promotional analysis to inform commercial planning and operational insights, contributing to the overall global strategy.

This pivotal role is to lead and coordinate the formulation and execution of advanced analytics strategies and solutions. The incumbent will play a central role in ensuring a uniform approach to providing commercial insights on global performance across all markets and channels.

 

Do you have what it takes?

Ideally you have background in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field. In addition, you have:

  • Demonstrable experience in applying advanced analytics and data science techniques to solve complex business problems.
  • Advanced proficiency in programming languages such as SQL, Python or R, and experience with relevant data science libraries and tools.
  • Good communication with the ability to convey technical findings to non-technical business partners.
  • Previous experience in a commercial analytics or consumer goods industry is a plus.
