About this opportunity:

In a sector seeing unprecedented changes brought about by shifts in technology, changing customer preferences and evolving regulatory environment we're adapting, innovating, and responding at pace to become the best bank for customers.

Our Insurance, Pensions & Investments (IP&I) division has a strong heritage of protecting what our customers’ value and helping them to plan for their futures. We're a leading provider of home insurance, pensions and retirement planning and operate under iconic brands such as Halifax, Lloyds and Scottish Widows.

The Data & Analytics team is a multi-disciplined team of about 80 colleagues sitting within the IP&I COO team. Our roles range from Data Governance and Management to Data Science, developing Business Insight and Robotic Process Automation (RPA) using a variety of data platforms to provide the services our business needs.

As a Lead Data Analyst, your role is instrumental in delivering rapid data analysis to advise critical decisions. Your purpose is to decipher sophisticated data, uncover trends, and deliver actionable insights to customers. With your deep understanding of people and processes, you play a pivotal role in optimising IP&I management strategies and contributing to the bank's operational excellence.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Your foremost responsibility is Data Analysis and Interpretation. You extract, clean, and transform IP&I data, deriving relevant insights to drive evidence-based decision-making.
  • Build different products for data use cases collaborating with Data visualisation and Data Science teams.
  • You'll engage with teams, business leaders, and multi-functional partners to comprehend their data needs, ensuring your analyses align with their objectives and ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • You'll provide Rapid Insights Delivery. Analysing data at pace equips internal customers with timely information for informed choices.
  • Supporting continuous improvement by refining analytical methodologies and data quality.
  • Extract insights from IP&I datasets, identifying trends, anomalies, and opportunities for optimisation.
  • Transform complex IP&I data into clear, concise, and actionable insights, aiding internal customers' decision-making processes. Generate reports, presentations, and visualisations that optimally convey data-driven insights to non-technical stakeholders.
