You and Your Team:

As a Lead Analyst, you will be reporting to the Campaign Management and Insight Manager. You’ll be part of the Unsecured Lending team within the Customer Communications Office, responsible for executing and driving optimal strategies to provide offers and products which deliver value to our customers.

Whilst leading the implementation of strategies, providing analysis and logical recommendations resulting in good customer and business outcomes.

In your day-to-day role, as a Lead Analyst you will:

  • Lead and oversee the development and delivery of analytical work to support the management of existing customers within the credit card business.
  • Lead the implementation of strategies including but not limited to customer repricing, balancing transfers, and all marketing activities to optimize customer value and enhance customer retention.
  • Provide support on existing customer strategy development and ownership of campaign and strategy execution processes, including design, optimisation, reporting and on-going management.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for process improvements and automation, streamlining analytical workflows and enhancing efficiency.
  • Devise and operate a robust test and learn approach, develop tests based on clear analysis/hypotheses, set clear performance expectations, monitor and adjust accordingly.
  • Adhere to first line controls and ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards in all analytical activities.
  • Proactively identify and act on opportunities to reduce waste, improve efficiency, increase productivity and grow the business.

What will make you stand out?

Essential:

  • Highly advanced SAS user
  • Experience SQL programmer
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in analytical/programming role
  • Attention to detail / accuracy focussed
  • Experienced in all standard MS Office applications
  • Good influencing and communication skills
  • Challenges conventional approaches
  • Ability to generate innovative ideas for improvement of existing processes, as well as gauge their viability and value
  • Honours Degree (2:1 or better) or equivalent in a quantitative subject such as Mathematics, Statistics, Operations Research or Computer Science

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of other relevant programming/analytical tools such as R, Python, Hadoop, Tableau
  • Experience in analytics related to customer value management, including marketing and/or credit
  • Good knowledge of Finance terminology, Banking P&L, good regulatory knowledge and awareness, including business implications.
  • Certification in SAS Base and Advanced Programming

The interview process:

  • Up to 30minute telephone call with a member of the Talent Acquisition team
  • Up to 1 hour interview with the hiring team with a more technical focus
  • Final competency-based interview
