Job Description

We have a fantastic new opportunity for an IT Environment & Release Analyst to join usin Hove!

Bringing stability and control to L&G IT environments, you’ll own non-production environments, orchestrate their usage and act as a gatekeeper for all releases to ensure the integrity of the environments.

What you'll be doing:

  • Managing and supporting the application environments facilitating definition, creation, build, deployment, and maintenance (including upgrades) where applicable - ensuring to protect integrity of environments. Managing the full configuration status of each of the environments from OS versions, patch status, software versioning
  • Defining, establishing and maintaining Environment Strategies, auditable policies, processes, and IT Controls for Environment Management in line with industry best practice (ITIL)
  • Managing application environments allocation, multiple bookings, or shared usage and maintaining the schedule of environment usage
  • Working with Solution Architects to ensure environment design and purpose meets strategic objectives and supports change flexibility. Maintaining environment cost profile and supporting in reducing associated costs
  • Negotiating, planning and managing all release/deployment activities to forward plan the release windows and cycles across the estate from an environment perspective, including task/resource/dependency management. Producing and maintaining Run Books
  • Supporting project delivery through defining and agreeing requirements and providing expert knowledge on best practice environment types, configurations, connectivity, and functionality to meet expectations. Providing guidance to project teams on environment utilisation and efficiencies
  • Defining and maintaining management information and publishing KPI on a periodic basis which includes environment usage/utilization, forward planning/schedules/bookings, performance, capacity, and availability across in-scope environments
  • Proactively monitoring the incidents related to the environments and facilitating closure of incidents. Analysing the incident data to perform trend analysis and contributing to continual improvement. Managing risks and resolving issues pertaining to environments

Qualifications

Who we're looking for:

  • Naturally you’ll be well versed in IT Environmental Management
  • Perhaps you’re working in a Release Management role and looking for a new challenge?
  • Good understanding of IT infrastructure
  • Experience in a DevOps/Agile environment
  • Cloud experience with either AWS or Azure would be a huge plus!
