Head of Data Oversight

As Head of Data you will be tasked with leading the team accountable for the retained activities post the transition of certain activities to State Street. It is proposed that there will be managerial responsibility for a team of approximately 5 providing strategic direction to the rest of the team members of the oversight function. This is a key position in the post transition organisation with the incumbent demonstrating key in-depth understanding of the operating model and influencing the implementation of the post transition model.
This will be a services Function within Operations to provide an efficient and effective support and oversight service that remains aligned to the strategic goals of the department and business globally.
- Tasked with key responsibilities for ensuring the team fulfil the timely processing of all data retained activities (TBD) in line with market, regulatory and internal deadlines. Proactively working with LGIM stakeholders, Outsource Provider, and 3rd Parties to ensure all asset pricing activities are managed.
- Using prior knowledge of data workflows and process requirements, review and enhance where appropriate the service of the outsourced provider meets the agreed service standards (incl. accuracy, timeliness, and client services measures).
- Direct the outsource provider with agreed retained services delivery for the respective service area.
- Provide strategic guidance to the team on the daily & weekly service delivery KPI / KRIs and escalate issues accordingly between senior leadership stakeholders involved.
- Tasked with leading operational risk and issues within team and outsourced provider, regularly review and identify further opportunities for risk mitigation; ensure all functional procedures are in line with policies and regulatory requirements. Promptly and clearly articulate and inform senior management and stakeholders.
- Identify continuous improvement opportunities and ensure the team are implementing these to drive the development of the outsource model (focus on enhancing control effectiveness and efficiency).
- Design and implement a weekly service provider update which focuses on service fulfilment and escalated issues.
- Form strategic partnerships with service providers/vendors, leveraging network. Actively participate and represent LGIM at working parities/forums. Clearly articulate and share market information internally to appropriate stakeholders.
- Manage, motivate, and develop employees at all levels, in a manner that is consistent with the company's policies and procedures including the Partnership Agreement, to maximize the performance of the area. Strive for excellence in people management, displaying an empathic management style, leading by example, and using this to coach and support a team expected to deliver high standards. Role model the behaviours.
- Demonstrated experience of the asset management industry/experience relevant to role.
- Extensive knowledge in the outsourced service area covering operational service delivery knowledge and client expectations.
- Industry awareness of the outsourced service area and regulations governing it.
- Experience in managing and overseeing 3rd party relationship service delivery.
- Strong influencing skills in managing relationship / client service engagement.
- Proven experience in managing operational service matters, awareness of LGIM risk and control framework.
- Customer oriented skills to understand service recipient needs and expectations.
- Proven capability to work both independently and across a team.
- Excellent planning, prioritisation, problem solving and organisation skills. Evidence of high degree of independent judgment for decision making.
- Flexible, adaptable, and able to multi-task in a fast paced and changeable environment. Having a positive attitude towards change.
- Ability to work at different levels of detail, including a grasp of the bigger picture concepts and complex details.
- Must have the ability to work in a fast-moving management environment with many often-conflicting demands.
- Excellent presentation, interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to relay information clearly and concisely in both written and verbal communications.
- Experience of managing multiple initiatives/projects and change management.
