Head of Business Intelligence
The Role
The Head of Business Intelligence is instrumental in driving data-driven decision-making across the organisation, ensuring that business leaders have access to timely and insightful information to support strategic initiatives.
This role will take a strategic lead in shaping, directing, and delivering the agreed data strategy within the Force’s business intelligence function.
The role holder will lead the team to produce, analyse, challenge, validate and present management information to the business, maximise the Force’s performance and inform decision-making.
What You’ll Do:
1. Execute the agreed data strategy and establish the foundations for continued long term success. Present at management committees the data strategy progress and delivery against plan.
2. Responsible for the continued development of centralising data to provide a single source of information for the Force; work closely with other members of the department to develop visualisation tools.
3. Work closely with senior management to identify information needs and requirements; recommend and implement solutions in a timely manner to meet those needs in collaboration with other members of the department.
4. Evaluate existing systems and processes, identify problem areas, and recommend solution for improved methods of data collection and information delivery by maximising effective use of technology.
What You’ll Bring (Quals & Experience)
Evidence of continued professional/management development.
Qualified to degree level or equivalent in a Information Management or related subject.
Proven experience in a data leadership role.
Highly numerate, computer literate and practiced in statistical analysis. Being able to interpret information, analyse and present information according to need; and use for comparison, planning, monitoring and improvement.
Understanding of the Data Protection Act, GDPR and Information Governance.
Strategic thinker with the ability to translate business needs into actionable data strategies.
Good understanding of data driven decision making.
