What you'll do:

  • Support our projects: Create a variety of print and online publications, including reports, posters, exhibition graphics, bulletins, and marketing materials.
  • Design with purpose: Apply design principles to ensure consistency, quality, and usability while maintaining Thatcham Research’s brand identity.
  • Innovate and collaborate: Develop graphic design solutions for engineering projects, enhancing both commercial and business communications.
  • Incorporate feedback: Work with stakeholders to refine designs and manage delivery timelines effectively.

What you'll bring:

  • Educational background: A qualification in Graphic Design, Art and Design, or a related field with a strong understanding of digital and print processes.
  • Experience: Solid background in a similar role, creating designs for various media, including print and online platforms.
  • Technical skills: Advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and MS Office.
  • Multitasking ability: Confidently juggle multiple projects and deliver within tight deadlines.
  • Portfolio: A showcase of your creativity, originality, and attention to detail – be ready to share this at the interview stage!
  • Bonus skills: Experience in photography, UI/UX or web design standards and best practices is a plus.

When we work

Our standard working hours are 8:30 - 16:30 Monday - Thursday, early finish on Friday - 8:30 - 15:45 (Talk to us about flexible working if this doesn’t quite suit you – we take work-life balance seriously!)

How we work

We understand the benefits of remote and in-person collaboration, and therefore have a hybrid working model – you’ll be expected to work from our office in Thatcham at least two days per week.

At the cutting edge of automotive research in the UK, Thatcham Research has a unique role in shaping the design of new vehicles and influencing ever higher standards of safety, security and repair. With an on-site Crash Laboratory, Repair Technology Centre and Training Academy, our research expertise is driving some of the very latest automotive developments in technology, materials and standards in this fast moving and highly technical industry.

Our active safety track site is one of the leading accredited Euro NCAP testing facilities, trialling and assessing the very latest developments in vehicle safety and assistance technologies.
