Graduate Rating Programmer

We are looking for highly numeric graduates to join the Rating Team in the Pricing and Analytics area of our multi-award winning business. Who are the Rating Team?
The Rating Team are responsible for maintaining the rating engine for our Motor and Household products including Car, Van, Home and Landlord Insurance. While we work closely with our Pricing and Analytics areas to implement rate changes and determine prices, we also work with other departments such Underwriting, Product Teams, I.T and Digital. Our role is crucial in ensuring we remain competitive in an ever evolving market.
What would your role entail
As a Graduate Rating Programmer you would be responsible for making changes to our rating structure using the software package Ratabase. This process is made up of multiple stages, from liaising with the analyst and investigating potential impacts on the existing rating structure, to the development and coding of the change within Ratabase, to testing, and finally implementation into the live environment.
As your system knowledge grows, the expectation will be for you to take on more responsibility and become more independent when carrying out investigation, building and testing of increasingly complex changes
Skills and Qualifications:
A 2:1 Honours degree in a Mathematical, STEM disciplines or a degree that demonstrates a solid numerical and/or analytical academic background.
Demonstrate a logical mind-set and attention to detail - The ability to combine analytical thinking based on numbers together with common sense and ingenuity.
Strong communication skills and a willingness to learn as part of a fast paced team.
While coding experience may be beneficial it is not a requirement
