We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our Demand Forecasting product team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and building scalable and robust data pipelines and automate ML models and algorithms in a multi-functional Data Science Engineering product team. You can either be based in London or our headquarter Billund.

Core Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the software design, integration architecture, and implementation of the demand forecasting service.
  • Build and automate robust and scalable data ETL and ML model management pipelines.
  • Build RESTful data APIs to integrate with downstream consumers.
  • Serve as a point of contact for Data Scientists and Data Analysts and help them in adopting a modern, CI/CD driven development process.

You will be part of the Data Science Products (DSP) organisation, which is the home of 50+ data science and engineering colleagues, distributed across our Denmark and UK offices. DSP is responsible for incubating, developing, and rolling out a broad portfolio of data science, AI and ML solutions across different business areas and for defining and driving data science and data engineering excellence.

 

Besides working in a multi-functional, agile product team, you will have an opportunity to allocate some of your time to proof-of-concepts, greenfield and incubation projects outside the main scope of your work.

 

Do you have what it takes?

You are a Software Engineer with a proven track record of working on data-centric applications. You have at least few years of engineering experience building data processing pipelines using modern tools and frameworks. What distinguishes you is your passion for architecture and engineering best practices, such as automation, test driven development, and CI/CD. You have:

  • Proficiency in Python 3 and/or Scala and are familiar with the core language ecosystem(s) and API (REST/GraphQL) packages.
  • Experience with Apache Spark or other data processing frameworks.
  • Solid background in relational data models and SQL.
  • Good understanding in setting up CI/CD pipelines in either GitLab or GitHub.
  • Willing to travel about two weeks per year (3-4 trips).

 

Nice to have:

  • Experience working with Databricks.
  • Experience with ML model training and evaluation.
  • Domain knowledge / prior experience in demand forecasting / demand planning.
