Who we’re looking for

The Client Data Science team is part of the Client Insights Unit (CIU), which comprises several teams focused on enabling client-facing teams to make data guided decisions through a connected ecosystem of people, process, and technologies.

In the Client Insights Unit, we are constantly generating insights and evolving our offering, to provide client-facing teams with the best possible intelligence about their accounts, products and the market, so that they can develop deep relationships and provide the best service.

The Insights Product Owner will be responsible for the successful end-to-end delivery of client insights, across Distribution including Distribution Sales, Relationship Management (RM), and Client Service) to action.

Working within an Agile framework they will work closely across both the CIU, Distribution and Technology teams to ensure that business requirements are understood, prioritised accordingly and delivered successfully whilst adhering to existing governance standards.

The team

The Insights Product Owner will report to the Head of Client Data Science and will work closely with the other CIU teams including CRM and Business Intelligence as well as with a variety of business and technology stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the definition of the Client Insights strategy; aligned to the overall CIU vision.
  • Manage the Insights Feed roadmap, business backlog and release strategy.
  • Responsible for all aspects of insights delivery from idea to go-live; requirement gathering, risks and issues and measuring success. Coordinating efforts across several Scrum and business teams.
  • Helping transform model outputs into insights (including visualisation), making sure the insights are timely available to users, ensuring their adoption and tracking their usage.
  • Define, promote and measure client data insights and their effectiveness; ensuring feedback from users (verbal and automated) is considered to ensure 360-degree continuous product development.
  • Develop a deep understanding of users needs and how insights fit into their journey.
  • Build sponsorship and support across stakeholder groups to ensure client data insights strategy is supported by the business and can be delivered effectively.
  • Responsible for successful adoption of client data insights are understood and useful to the business, and training is executed where needed.
  • Contribute to the analysis, development, and testing of data products and visualisations.
  • Monitor issues and be a point of escalation for Insights Feed related issues.
  • Work closely with technology, business and executive management to facilitate innovation in the toolset used. This may involve evaluation of new tools and ways of working and considering strategies for migration.
  • Engage with vendors to ensure that they have the vision, execution capability and tools to be effective partners.
  • Work with compliance/audit and info assurance to understand the implications of technologies on the business and agree policies relating to security, risk and data management.
  • Support other team members to improve their analysis skills and experiences

Key Deliverables:

  • Continued development of client data insights and evolution of the Insights Feed.
  • Regular and ongoing Insights Feed progress updates to key
  • Collecting feedback and gauging levels of commitment and/or dissatisfaction to inform Insights Feed priorities and activities.
  • Promote best practice (i.e., data accuracy, processes and toolset).
  • Foster collaboration and development a data driven culture.
  • Promote the team capabilities and successes.

The knowledge, experience and qualifications you need

  • Excellent communication skills and stakeholder management; able to drive change effectively across a range of stakeholder groups at various levels of the organisation.
  • Ability to demonstrate strong ownership skills, managing end-to-end lifecycle or ecosystem.
  • High level of technical skill; data analysis techniques, methodologies and artefacts to support data insights development.
  • Experienced in the development and deployment of data visualisations, reporting and analytics solutions such as Tableau, PowerBI, Salesforce Analytics and Alteryx.
  • Experience of working in Agile and Scrum teams.
  • Experience of data analysis for interface design and data model definitions.
  • Ability to demonstrate strategic thinking and thought leadership.
  • Previous experience of delivering business change to multiple stakeholder groups with different needs and ways of working.
  • Excellent attention to detail; consistency across written materials and reporting is key.
  • A strong ability to put yourself in others’ shoes to understand user needs and how Insights fit into user journeys.
  • Ability to work as part of a team in a multi-discipline environment and in a matrix organisation.
  • Ability to prioritise and manage multiple pieces of work at the same time in a fast-paced environment.

The knowledge, experience and qualifications that will help

  • Previous experience of working in asset management / financial services environment and the types of business processes executed by a distribution function Knowledge of Agile project management framework preferred
  • Proficient in SQL and other 4GL language.
  • Knowledge and experience of development or testing skills and tools common programming languages is preferred.
