We’re happy to speak about any reasonable adjustments you need.

DWP is the UK's largest government department. We help people into work and make payments worth over £195bn a year to support some of the most vulnerable people in our society.

DWP Digital creates digital services that almost everyone in the UK relies on at some point in their lives. We’re carrying out a once-in-a-generation transformation, a task of size and scale unmatched elsewhere. Using fresh ideas and cutting-edge technology, we’re revamping the digital experiences of 22 million customers.

If you’re curious about user behaviour and enjoy finding meaning in complexity, join DWP Digital as a Digital Performance Analyst and help us get this right.

Job description

DWP teams need information about how our digital services are being used and whether they meet our users’ needs. Gathering and analysing data helps us make better, more-informed choices.

Your mission will be to turn data into stories that help product teams provide a great user experience. You’ll bring user journey data to life to help others understand the complexity of user behaviour. You’ll have the opportunity to take data through the full analysis lifecycle – from its rawest form to generating insights.

You’ll collaborate with product teams to help guide them towards continuous improvement. To understand the impact of changes, you’ll develop meaningful performance measures to methodically test your hypotheses.

Humans are complex, therefore the problems you’ll be solving will be complex too. Joining a collaborative and multidisciplinary team, you’ll use and develop data services in Azure and Power BI. You’ll even have the chance to use robots and machine learning to predict and solve problems before they occur. There’ll be something new to learn every day!

You’ll have ample opportunity to practise and further develop your performance analysis skills. We use (and can teach you) Power BI, machine learning and Azure Application Insights.

We care about our employees and understand that people are not numbers. We can offer you a working environment that is family friendly, supportive and inclusive in an organisation with real social purpose.
