Are you ready to lead with purpose and empower a high performing team at the heart of the energy transition? We’re looking for a passionate and people focused Data Team Manager to guide our Flex Data Team, nurturing a supportive culture while delivering innovative data solutions that unlock real value for our customers and business.
Experience in the energy sector is essential for this role – we’re seeking someone who understands the unique challenges and opportunities in this space and can hit the ground running. This is a highly collaborative leadership role where your ability to communicate, prioritise and inspire will be just as important as your technical and industry expertise.
Here's a taste of what you'll be doing:
- Champion the voice of data within the business, building strong and trusted relationships with stakeholders across all levels
- Lead, mentor and support a multi-skilled team of analysts, engineers and data scientists to thrive and grow
- Develop and deliver a data roadmap aligned to business goals, with thoughtful prioritisation balancing today’s needs and tomorrow’s vision
- Shape and deliver a single, reliable source of truth in DataBricks, enabling smarter and more personalised decisions across the organisation
- Cultivate a culture of curiosity and self service by upskilling teams in data literacy and creating space for the team to focus on high impact analysis
- Bring data to life through storytelling, modelling and actionable insights, including Next Best Action and AI opportunities
- Contribute to the wider data strategy as part of the Data Leadership Team, helping shape our journey with a people first mindset
- Celebrate and foster inclusion, respect and continuous learning within your team, encouraging everyone to bring their whole selves to work
Are we the perfect match?
- A strong track record of delivering measurable business value through data – especially within the energy sector
- An excellent communicator with a flair for explaining data insights in a compelling and clear way
- Confident in prioritising work and building meaningful, value-driven data roadmaps
- Experienced in stakeholder engagement and relationship-building, especially at senior levels
- A thoughtful and empowering leader, dedicated to nurturing team wellbeing and growth
- Deeply familiar with data transformation programmes and platforms like DataBricks
- A believer in strong data foundations, with a pragmatic approach to delivery
- Holds a relevant degree or equivalent experience in statistics, mathematics or related fields
It would be great if you had:
- Experience leading or working on commercial data products
- Expertise in customer behaviour modelling, personalisation or AI/ML pipelines
- Strong business understanding and commercial awareness
- Previous experience working in fast paced, high autonomy environments
- A personal passion for making energy cleaner, fairer and more accessible
This role requires direct energy sector experience – unfortunately, candidates without this background will not be considered. You'll be joining a dynamic and growing business where data is at the heart of everything we do. You'll have the autonomy to lead, space to innovate, and a team who values support, balance and shared success.
