Salary: £30,507 to £32,639 plus a location allowance of £1,841 and a non-pensionable allowance of £1,000. You will receive £30,507 the band minimum. Progress to the band maximum of £32,639 will be via incremental progression

Location: Bromley and Lewisham. The team is based at Newlands Park, Sydenham. However, we are currently practicing blended working, part office based, part remote working
This vacancy is to join the CONNECT project working in the Data and Configuration (CDAC) team as a data quality administrator. CONNECT is our IT project that will help us to improve the quality of our data, reduce duplication and the need to enter data into systems multiple times.
The data quality administrator will ensure that the data entered into CONNECT is done so correctly and will provide the rich information it's designed to deliver. Whilst specialist training will be provided, the ideal candidate will have an aptitude for learning with an inquisitive mind. Knowledge or experience of using CONNECT would be advantageous.
The role will enable you to:
- build on your problem-solving and analytical skills
- develop a unique expertise of the Met's main operational software system
- be part of one of the biggest IT projects in policing and the Met
- support frontline policing by maintaining the quality and accuracy of Met data to ensure that officers and staff have access to and confidence in a broad range of valuable intelligence
- enhance your future career options by gaining strategic insight into a project that encompasses the whole organisation
Key responsibilities
- work proactively as part of a team to meet deadlines as well as working independently
- review duplicate data for merging by conducting predefined searches to identify incorrectly linked and poor quality CONNECT data
- provide user support and apply resolution for linked data issues
- manage data issues identified by applying broader engagement where required to achieve a resolution
- engage with CONNECT users to address data issues
- build knowledge about CONNECT as a system and develop an expert understanding on how the system works and is configured
- assist new users adapt to the new system and solve issues raised in a timely manner
- other ad-hoc administration tasks to support the CDAC team and the wider CONNECT team
Vetting
This post requires access to the most sensitive intelligence material on a daily basis. Applicants must hold or be prepared to undergo National Security Vetting (NSV) Security Check (enhanced) (SC(e)) level before taking up the post; with a willingness to undergo Developed Vetting (DV) once in post, if required.
Additionally, this material is of particular sensitivity to the UK and its distribution must be restricted to UK nationals. In approved circumstances dual nationals (of which one element is British) may also be granted access. However, in the event that potential conflicts of interest cannot be managed the post holder will not be able to see the intelligence material and will not be able to perform their duties.
For the purpose of safeguarding national security and in line with Cabinet Office Policy, supported by Section 82(2) to (4) of the Police Reform Act (2002), applicants who do not hold or acquire Security Check (enhanced) (SC(e)) or Developed Vetting (DV) clearance and meet the nationality requirements cannot be offered the post.
