Job Description
Legal and General Affordable Homes are looking for a proactive Data Protection and Compliance Manager to join our innovative data team. This role is key to ensuring compliance with GDPR and other data protection regulations, while driving data security and governance initiatives.
As an essential member of the team, you will collaborate closely with the Head of Data and various stakeholders to maintain and implement data security policies, procedures, and controls. You will manage data compliance, oversee data privacy risks, and ensure the organization adheres to relevant regulations. Engaging in strategic discussions with internal and external stakeholders will also be a crucial part of your responsibilities.
What you'll be doing:
- Managing data security and protection within Affordable Homes
- Analysing data to understand the impact of changes and implementing policies accordingly
- Identifying and addressing areas for strategy, policy, or procedure review
- Managing the Data Sharing Register, Record of Processing Activities, and breach escalations
- Acting independently to ensure full compliance with GDPR
- Providing tools and mechanisms for staff to conduct their duties related to data protection
- Implementing approaches to data collection and analysis for SARs and breach reporting
- Overseeing investigations into data breaches and ensuring appropriate internal escalation
Qualifications
Who we're looking for:
- Degree educated or equivalent
- Appropriate security qualifications and memberships (e.g., ISO27001, CISSP, CISM)
- Expertise in GDPR with experience advising and influencing stakeholders
- Strong understanding of data concepts and architectures
- Ability to undertake analysis using Microsoft Excel
- Experience in shaping and determining changes to processes, policies, and procedures
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to present technical concepts in business-friendly language
- Experience working with IT and Information Security stakeholders in complex organizations
