About the Team: 

Lloyds Banking Group realises that data and analytics are significant business differentiators for financial services companies. Across the banking industry Data Management and Analytics is receiving increased attention and focus. We're looking to drive a sophisticated approach to how we manage data to support transformation and digitisation of the business and optimise interaction with our customers.

 

You'll be part of a team supporting key projects and initiatives across the Group to help realise our aspirations. This will include data change activities, and responsibilities central to data strategy development.

 

Location: Bristol and London 

We work flexibly with a hybrid working pattern. Our teams and colleagues balance their business and individual needs by dividing their time between home and office, with an average of 2-3 days a week in each.

 

*** The base salary banding for this role is £57,078-£63,420 depending on experience - plus benefits outlined below ***

 

About the role: 

The role holder will be accountable for delivering across several core capabilities in the team. This includes but not limited to:

 

  • You’ll be supporting Senior Leaders with the overall strategy, operating model and the delivery of the standards and frameworks to ensure the business objectives align
  • You’ll be delivering appropriate oversight to certify that data management activity is effective and ensure that data risk is minimised so that data value outcomes can be achieved
  • You’ll be facilitation of experiments that run to bring fresh thinking, technologies and progressive approaches to our data management practices
  • You’ll be driving the embedding of Data Management into the Groups Change activity to ensure we optimise Data value and that we innovate safely
  • You’ll be leading the Groups Community of data practitioners, providing ongoing support and engagement to ensure appropriate Data Culture and capabilities
  • You’ll define and embed standard methodologies and operating model, including the articulation of roles and responsibilities throughout the group
  • You’ll be an advocate for the identification and evaluation of new internal and external innovation opportunities that enhance our existing data management capabilities or deliver a new source of value
  • You’ll support the creation of Committee & board level updates and reports to detail progress of initiatives

 

You'll display the following qualities that are essential for the role:

  • Operational & Conduct – A demonstrable understanding of operational risk and ability to articulate the risks posed by lack of data management control. Foresight to identify, mitigate and report risks across IT, business and corporate functions
  • Proven Experience & knowledge across various Data Management disciplines, and knowledge of data role types and responsibilities. With knowledge of how to utilise these capabilities to enable our Community
  • Teamwork and Collaboration – you'll have worked proactively and effectively with colleagues to tackle business problems. Building strong working relationships with senior leaders to implement change and secure consensus for Data Management initiatives to align with business objectives
  • Critical thinking and sophisticated problem solving – you can demonstrate the ability to approach problems in a pragmatic way, identify root cause and draw logical conclusions to develop solutions & make recommendations.
  • Communication & Engagement – clear and effective communication of initiatives, standard methodologies and advisory services must be a core skill.
  • Telling the story of Data Management so its understood by a wide range of colleagues and empower them to take action.
  • Outward looking perspective – demonstrating a strong foundational knowledge of the external risk landscape, having engaged with cross industry Communities of practice
