Job Description: 

The Chief Data Office is a business centric team part of the Global Corporate and Investment Banking Chief Data & Analytics Office (‘CDAO’) and is responsible for the execution of the data management strategy, ensuring data policies, governance and standards are applied consistently across Line of Business/Functions

As a Data Management Associate within the Chief Data Office, you will play a crucial role in implementing our data management strategy. Your responsibilities will include ensuring consistent application of data policies, governance, and standards across diverse business lines and functions. You will coordinate specific data workstreams, manage reporting/metrics, lead and execute particular projects, and advocate for a data-promoten culture across all Corporate and Investment Banking Lines of Business. This position offers a unique opportunity to build robust partnerships with Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning teams, AI Research, Quantitative Research, Front Office, Business Managers, Operations, and Technology teams.

Job responsibilities:

  • Coordinate specific data workstreams (i.e privacy, data storage etc) in ensuring compliance with global firmwide policies and local regulatory requirements
  • Liaise reporting/ metrics to support governance meetings and managers with supervisory responsibilities e.g. Data Protection Officers
  • Leads and execute specific projects required by local regulatory requirements (owned by Data office)
  • Promote awareness of data culture across all CIB LOBs.
  • Foster strong partnership with AI/ML teams, AI Research, QR, Front Office, Business Managers, Operations and Technology teams

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • B.A. in Finance or related field
  • At least 3 years of experience in a finance/ operations related field similar in leading financial institutions
  • Experience in technology and data-related fields
  • Possess good understanding of China Financial Markets and regulations
  • Good understanding of data flows, and data controls
  • Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills, along with the ability to tailor a message to various levels of management
  • Strong aptitude to work with a wide range of line of businesses and functions
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Highly motivated individual with excellent time management & organizational skills
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint (including PitchPro)
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills, flexible and capable of engaging various functions, locations, and businesses
