Data Literacy Coach

ABOUT THE JOB

We have an exciting new role in the Change and Transformation sub-domain as part of the EU Data and Analytics Domain. The EU D&A Domain is a recently formed initiative to bring together the EU data departments and to unite and promote the way we handle data to become a true data driven company.
The data literacy coach is a key role in the EU data transformation to help all staff in the business fully leverage the power of data. They will work closely with the EU D&A Academy and D&A Translator to successfully engage the company in data and analytics. The data literacy coach will lead and manage the data literacy programme focusing on coaching written and verbal communication, data interpretation and data storytelling, and broadcasting the opportunities data and technology offer to solve complex business’s issues.
The role does not require an in-depth technical understanding of data and analytics but you should have a passion for bringing the best out in people, be able to use a variety of tools to engage people in data and have a creative mind to think ‘outside the box’ to achieve the team’s objectives.
The role includes:
- Assess data literacy in our European operations to create, plan and scope a programme to upskill and engage staff in data
- Roll out data and analytics focused training initiatives that can help to create an environment where learning D&A skills and acquiring data literacy knowledge is a part of the organizational culture
- Build and deliver communication initiatives to inform key stakeholders of progress in the EU D&A Domain and engage the wider community
- Work to establish a risk and blame-free environment for all stakeholders to engage in conversations around data
- Drive the organization to become more data-driven with effectively and consistently utilizing data in the decision-making process across all levels of the organization.
You will have:
- The ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization, including non-fluent English speakers
- An interest in using data to understand the world around you, and the ability to communicate that understanding to a non-technical audience
- Some experience interpreting and explaining data (this can be basic experience)
- Experience and/or passion to develop others
- The ability to speak and write English fluently
- The ability to work independently with minimal oversight in a dynamic, quick-changing environment
- The ability to broker mutually beneficial relationships with a wide range of partners
- Desire to reach out to new people via email or videocall
- French, Spanish or Italian language skills (not essential)
The role is UK based and some travel to our international offices may be required based on the needs of the business.

Location
We are working in a hybrid approach and so are in the office once per week in Cardiff. However, we are open to discussing flexibility around this (UK only). We will provide you with everything you need to work comfortably from home.
