We have opportunities across a number of Data teams….

Pricing and Data Science:

Our growing Pricing and Data Science team is comprised of 40 Pricing and Data Science specialists supporting the pricing of $5 Billion of annual premium. They work with Underwriters across the UK, Europe and Lloyd’s and London Markets. A role in this team would see you supporting the product leads in building and deploying the next generation of pricing models using modern data science techniques and models.

Data Centre of Excellence:

The Data Centre of Excellence team in our European Operation is evolving, and we are looking for enthusiastic and data-orientated aspiring Data Analysts. A role in this team will give you the opportunity to spend four months in each of our three teams (Data Excellence, Business Intelligence, Data Solutions & Analysis), which will provide you with a broad experience of working with data.

Data & Analytics Train:

The Data & Analytics Train is responsible for all support, maintenance and change activities relating to our Data estate. This includes our Enterprise Information Data Warehouse that supports critical reporting needs across our business and our Google Cloud Platform used by our Data Scientists to develop and run their models. We are also in the process of implementing a modern, flexible Azure cloud-based platform to facilitate a data driven culture within QBE. We have a number of roles available within this team:

Data Application Support Specialist: in this role you will take ownership of some of our data applications developing a good understanding of the application from a business and a technical perspective and helping to drive improvement of service for our user community

Data Analyst: in this role you will be learning technical data analysis skills to resolve Production data issues, conduct reconciliations to ensure data integrity in our estate and to design, deliver and test changes to our data estate
DevOps Engineer: in this role you will be working on developing the Google Cloud Platform to enable the rapid and safe, deployment of Data Science models through code and automation.

Data Engineer: in this role you will learn how to assemble and gather complex data sets that meet business requirements for Machine Learning and Data Science

About you

  • Excellent problem solver with an inquisitive mindset and can-do attitude
  • Some experience using SQL or Python would be desirable but is not a must
  • Achieved a 2:1 or above in a STEM subject at University
  • GCSE in Mathematics and English at grade C or 4 and above
  • You must have completed your studies within five years prior to Sept 2023
  • You must have unrestricted working rights in the UK until at least Sept 2026
  • You must be able to commute to our London or Leeds offices at least twice a week
